Quadrupling Up

songs of the days

what have you been listening to?

I Was Working, Okay!

Whoops. Missed a few there. My butt has been firmly attached to my swiveling desk chair, but yet I haven't found the time. But in wonderful news to me and myself only, I've signed off on the Strata job and now it's in the hands of the Abu Dhabians. Our house became SSI headquarters once again and we even recruited a few new employees.

Yuula experimented with headbands...

and hats...

and napping spots.

I polished off my cherry moonshine...

so now all I have left is some liquor soaked cherries, but I'm taking care of that now.

Oh and Yuula is a robot.

Up at 4am. Gotta go.

The Swingers Strike Back

The Krupp boys are back in town. Seems like only yesterday they were swinging Yuula around by her toes to bad hip hop songs. She doesn't forget these things.

song of the day

Well On Her Way To Becoming a Japanese Teen

What better to do on the most frigid day of the year yet, but have the car serviced and wander the shops of Lehigh Valley. Laura needed a new pair of pants and a cell phone case, I wanted to reload on loose teas and German sugar, and Yuula would no doubt find something she wanted.

Before I could even get myself in the doors she had picked this nugget out. Nice product placement JCPenney. Eye level of a toddler never fails. But she still hasn't taken it off and she just went to bed.

We hit a kid's store where she felt the need to accessorize her outfit.

Her sass level was instantly exaggerated.

Over to Disney to stare at all the plush

Showing the big girls how to do style

Laura downloaded some app where you check into stores and get points towards a prizes. A cruise is 64million points. Today she got 30. I'm buying a bathing suit stat!

Yuula killed some butter chicken and rice pudding at Indian Spice

And it's only fitting that I shot the whole day in black and white because it only further accentuates the choices Laura made today in her purchases.

Yes those are florescent orange corduroys and a bright pink phone case. She must be going colorblind.

We visited Katie at YEA! on the way home. Good times catching up, even if the catchup was cluelessness.

Just Barely Negative

and we're going out in it

She's Been Carpe Dieming

I've noticed lately that Yuula is really trying to fill up her whole day with activities and whatnot. She's what us adults may call a "go-getter". She must be adopted.

Today she played ball, wrestled me, built block castles, played guitar, danced, put her baby to sleep, played with her dollhouse, her kitchen, her computer, she colored and jumped on the bed, gave me a checkup, rode her horse, played hide & seek (by herself), took a bath and pretended to be a dolphin and a mermaid, read books, got dressed and undressed between four outfits, distributed jewelry and hairbands between us, pretended to be a robot, a cat and a dog, and chased a balloon, and that was all after lunch. She wears me out just being in the same room.

She's also gone without a nap for about a week now. Which is probably why she's gone to bed so willingly and passed out cold before we can close the door behind us. People say they wish they had her energy. I wish I had her rapid eye movement.

I'm just glad she's getting some exercise indoors, since it's 9° and all.

Head And Shoulders In A Glass Jar

song of the day

a couple new releases I'm pretty stoked about, this one, new Wave Machines and so on... on first listen neither are better than their debuts, but isn't that always the way?

Crashed And Cooked

Yesterday was good and bad. Yuula played with (and left out) every single toy and game she could find including giving me a thorough medical examination while I was trying to get some work done and hiding all her wubbawees under my chair, lap, under my shirt and in my pockets for "other Yuula" to come and find after what we'll call a brief "forgetting period". I got a lot of good work done, bringing a close to a job we've been in the trenches on for over a year but focused on for a couple months. Then my computer crashed.

Such amazing timing cannot be coincidence. But I'm really hoping that big red X next to the hard drive symbol is not what I'm sure it is. I am surprisingly calm about it right now but this sucks pretty humongously.

Best part of the day was dinner. Laura whipped up some Indonesian ginger chicken over some crunchy noodle salad. This recipe tablet is gonna pay off I can feel it. What to cook on Wednesday??

Your Lulling Could Use Some Work

Yuula wanted to "rock you" her baby and read to her from the "dragon book". She did okay.

She has time.

The Force Is Among Us

Ok I give up. Apparently I am a Star Wars fanboy. This is my 7th post on the subject in like 2 months. I can't help it if this amazing stuff keeps beaming into my house via interwebs that I have no control over. These photo manipulations by Cedric Delsaux are some of the most amazing photos, period, and then you add the emperor's royal guards in there... c'mon, that is frameworthy stuff.

See.

The rest of his stuff is amazing cool too.

Modernized Multipurpose Antiques

Picked up an antique brandy warmer at Sleepy Hollow last week. Seemed to be missing an integral part but it was only $5 so why not. Turns out it doubles quite nicely as a kitchen tablet/phone holder while your cooking. Pretty handy for reading recipes.

And it warms brandy!

Too Coola For Yuula

Why Can't We Just Be Sunday?

Sunday's never have too strong a sense of Sunday in them round these parts. Even in the winter we find a boatload of a workload. Starting off with grocery shopping to supply ourselves with the ingredients to fully implement a Christmas gift and returning other ill-fitting Christmas gifts. Seems we can't get away from Christmas. We'll be traveling down to Georgia next week to celebrate it again. Calendars and Macy's decor don't tell us what to do. Forever 21.

We came home to flip on the TV at kickoff. Would've rather seen Atlanta/Baltimore but as long as it ain't the Patriots, I could really care less. The Brother Bowl, Super Baugh, Harbaugh Bowl will be fun tho. Thanksgiving will never be the same. Between commercial breaks we moved heavy furniture. During downs I heard clanking plates and rustling appliances. Forever changing.

Then we drank cherry moonshine.

Do You Appreciate Primitive Internet?

song of the day

uhm, I love these guys and their hair

Too Many Minnie

She decided one Minnie per shirt was not nearly enough

Star Wars UnDirectors Cut

In 2009 some dude asked people to remake Star Wars: A New Hope, using any method or medium they so desired. Then they spliced together the results in 15 second snippets and recreated the whole damn film! I watched the first couple scenes and was highly entertained. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I figure this is a good place to keep it safe. It's literally Star Wars as you've never seen it before.

I know by posting this I'm proving myself a liar when I try and convince people I'm not an obsessive Star Wars fanboy, but you gotta admit it's pretty damn cool... they're working on Empire now. eeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How's My Brain?

#1: good thing it's my favorite meal of the day, sometimes I eat it twice

#2: what about underreacting?

#3: I don't smoke, but I was unaware I had multiple brains to shrink

#4: I've already been compromised

#5: I live in America, what can I do?

#6: if we go off my most recent sleep schedule my brain cells are flourishing

#7: I cover my forehead sometimes with a cool pillow, but never my nose & mouth

#8: no concern here

#9: lately my conversations involve Minnie Mouse and chocolate milk, so...

#10: trying to think whether or not I have participated in stimulating thoughts is probably the most most stimulated my thoughts have been in a while
