Yesterday Eric & I went out for lunch. I wanted to take him to the Istanbul Grill but he had a personal road block against Turkish food so we went to the new Thai place up the road called Thai Orchid.
We started with some dumplings and then Eric had 3 appetizers, tofu, cream puffs & shrimp rolls and I had tilapia in sam rot sauce, which by the way is my new favorite sauce. All dishes were served scalding hot, so next time we'll know to take it all in for a couple minutes before we dive in and burn our mouths.
For dessert we had to have the fried honey banana. Holy crap if that didn't top off an already delicious lunch.
But the tasty desserts and blistering entrees aren't the headline here. It's more the staff itself, waitresses, chefs and owners who decided that once we got there it was their job to take care of Yuula. In a very polite and pleading manner each took turns holding her, introducing her to floral arrangements, and carrying her around to the other patrons, all who seemed equally excited to have a baby pawing at their silverware. It was comical really.
And Yuula loved them back. She chose a silver spoon as her toy for the event and every time one hit the floor they brought more to our table. We must've exhausted their entire ladeled supply. They also washed off the squeeze toys she let hit the ground in their hot water sink. That is service.
We will be back.
