Bailed On History

Would these last couple days prove to be historic? We arrived wide-eyed on Sunday, everyone excited, mainly the Southerners who'd never seen snow, or geese?, but also at the thought of being on location for one of the most relevant events possibly of our lives. We got right down to work, constructing a routine worthy of such a day, never once faltering or at a loss for billowing effect or layered countenance. Energy began to build as we paraded in front of mock audience in sub-zero temperature and sub-standard surrogate. The day had come and travel into the heart of the grounds where ceremonies that were sure to instill hope and inject piety upon a nation would be unfolding before our very eyes. The masterful performance of Yo Yo Ma & Itzhak Perlman, the simple but brilliant prose of Elizabeth Alexander, a brobdingnagian grey bow worn atop a Queen of Soul, the unifying power of benediction by Joseph Lowery, the induction of the free world's very first 'minority' leader, and the realization of a goal achieved long before our own existence had been considered. It was to be a momentous occasion and I was sure to be moved, as I had tickets for the best seat in the house.

On my couch in my bathrobe sipping some hot tea.

But look at these sweet shots I got.
