A good old friend from Boston sent us a gift for Yuula, and a little side gift for Laura & I. Kayoko came from japan to "study" American colorguard. We (Emerald Marquis) we her subject. After I found out she was living at the Y we took her in and showed her a real good time. She was great fun. Here we are in Boston Common during a snowstorm....
And here she is in our apartment...
She drew all those pictures on the wall. She was crafty like that. There's was origami cranes EVERYWHERE!
So she's home now, in Tokyo, and I missed her at the EM reunion, because I didn't go, so she sent us a care package. For Yuula, a couple bibs, towels & a rattle, all complete with wacky Japanese art & kanji.
For Laura & I, we got a pair of fancy flower toe-socks, a sophisticated toothpick carrying case & several packs of some strange banana/peanut snacks. We haven't found the courage just yet. Maybe later on tonight.
Here's Kayoko, back home in Higashiayase, where she often "plays" colorguard and dances. Good for her.
We'll meet up again someday.
