The Drunk, The Dad, The Boots, The Bachelor & Me

Atlantic City!!!

Ugly step-son to Las Vegas. Infamously known as "Always declining, but never hitting rock bottom". Birthplace of the Sundance Kid and Wendy's Dave Thomas. Peaceful & humble summer home to the Lenni Lenape Indians until some savvy developers saw the oceanfront property as a potential money maker. Ah, the American dream is Atlantic City.

I kid. A.C. was cool. I had never been. Tall shiny buildings frighten me. And my one experience in Vegas did not leave what you would call "a good taste" in my mouth. So I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised.

When you go to a city like the Atlantic City you new a crew. This is our crew.

The drunk, the dad, the boots & the bachelor.

We headed straight to the Borgata, one of the most lavish and expensive hotel casinos on the strip. Planned on catching the comedy show there but first we had to eat so we took in the buffet. Delicious food, and I impressed myself by only having two platefuls. They were big plates tho. And the gelato and coconut macaroons (and two bottles of Cabernet) really capped off the meal.

After the comedy show, which was much funnier than I had expected (and matrimonially appropriate for a bachelor's party), we headed over to Bally's for the cheaper $10 tables keeping our promises to our significant others not to lose too much money. I'll have you know that I came home with one $5 chip that kept as a souvenir. Tyler, Vic & Dane... not so lucky.

Sorry the photo is blurry but there was strict no cameras law within the casinos so I had to be stealth and blur is a side effect of stealth.

A dangerous moment occurred when I got caught in the middle of a moving sidewalk point-off.

Dane lost it.

Here was a favorite moment of the evening, when we harassed a young boy and his grandmother enough that he did a little dance for us... and then Dane beat up my camera.

The most impressive thing I found in Atlantic City was the carpet. I don't know where they got these patterns but I want the number of their decorator. I was mesmerized.

All that was on one floor of one casino.

And a gratuitous group shot to remind us, in case we forgot the next morning.

So debauchery accomplished. On with the weekends more civilized activities.
