The Wheat Sponge
I've been kind of obsessed with my Weetabix lately. It like a cereal blank slate. I can have whatever flavor I want every morning. Sometimes it honey and almonds, sometimes it's blueberries and raspberries, mostly it's been brown sugar and raisins. By the end it's just a bowl of mushy sweet raisin heaven. I'm trying to figure out how I can spread this idea out over lunch and dinner. Mustard and chicken weetabix? Curry and basmati weetabix? Turmeric? SAFFRON!?

It's White Alright
There she is folks. First snowfall of the year. Or at least the first one that has amounted to anything. I already shoveled snow and scraped the car, but instead of our trademark oatmeal on snow days we opted for cold cereal since we bought about twelve boxes to feed our guests over Thanksgiving and of which we ate zero. I think we may be eating a lot of cereal in the coming snowstorms.
Yuula didn't believe when we told her it was snowing out. She had to see it for herself. Then she wanted fruit snacks.

The Days Are Higher
I made a nice transition towards comfort in the new office space today. It is a whole new world up here, for myself and Yuula. Now instead of having a free for all in the living room she has fulltime access to her own bedroom, plus ours, which really is a better deal if you ask me. Plus I know she won't be getting into food, fire, or the like. So there's that. I did try and leave her down in the living room yesterday while I worked upstairs but that lasted about 8 minutes when I heard what sounded like this...
So that was the end of that experiment. But she likes the change so far. There's still a TV if she wants to watch some Sprout, and there's all new toys and books in her room, so it's kinda like Christmas. Plus she really likes her duck bath, even when it's not bath time.
To play in...
To watch TV in...
Or to take a nap in.
But finally today we did use it for what it was intended for. Bath time,
which she just doesn't get enough of. And it does lower her energy level a notch or two, so it's a little easier to transition to bedtime. I thought I'd put the nail in the coffin with a little Pajanimals sleepy time show but those fools were having a party, singing and splashing and taking rocketships into outerspace. I'm trying to put a baby to bed here Jim Henson. Pull it together please.

For That You Get This
Where has this week gone? Kinda can't believe it's Friday. Haven't really been keeping up with things. Maybe I need to switch to a stronger morning beverage. Maybe I need to stop DVRing First Take. I can't hear the same fabricated arguments everyday. It makes my week blurry and I FF>> most of it anyhow. Enough Tebow. Friday workday. Good to have a plateful at 6am. Yuula is awake but I am not entertaining her. When Laura walked out the front door I heard a cry from the crib. Those two have the Shining. But she's slowly settling back down. I don't think she needs to be up at 5:30am. I think even Sprout has infomercials. Gives me time to unload the camera. And for that, you get this...

Clean Cracks And Crash Cones
I've been framed!
I think someone broke into our house, grabbed some of Laura's favorite cereal and had themselves a breakfast in bed. That's the only explanation!!
I was driving in today on 33. All of the sudden the road was split by cones. Cones right down the middle of the two lanes. No warning and definitely no indication as to which side of the cones I should be on as to best avoid whatever was taking place on one side or the other. Then I began seeing smashed plastic from previously mentioned cones, a sure sign of travelers before me trying to decide which side of the cones they should venture on. I stayed true to my right lane and since it was 4:30 am stayed at an easy pace. I eventually spotted signs of construction ahead and tho not a single human was around, the sun lamps notified me as to where it was safe to pass. Adventure!!
I came home today and finally cleaned the baby's room. We had scheduled it for this past Sunday, but a Law & Order marathon had other plans. Laura seemed bummed about it so I took the reigns and the vacuum to its limit and sucked every crack between those wood slats clean as a whistle. The office is packed with all the furniture that was in there so I guess the office has now become a very large storage closet. New closet!!

Electricity Is Loud
We lost power this morning around 6am, right when Laura was leaving for work. That left me alone in the dark & eerie silence. I ate a candlelight breakfast...
Then Gabukobiwe & I played ball in a cup...
You know ball in a cup right?
My sentiments exactly.

Product 19
Since we're talking about cereal: Can someone please tell me where all the frigin 19 went? I love this stuff. Granted I can't eat it every day, I'm not a garbage disposal, but something about its bitter flakey goodness... Check it...- milled corn & defatted wheat germ, who doesn't want that?
- folic acid, delicious
- traces of soybean, traces of Heaven
- alpha tocopherol acetate, what breakfast is complete without some of that?!
I really do love the stuff tho. And I haven't been able to find it in any of the grocery stores within like a 100 mile radius of where we live. Seriously. If you happen to be in your local grocers cereal aisle and see a lowly box of Product 19 sitting there gathering dust, pick it up for me. I'll pay for shipping and everything. This world's going down the tubes, man.
Damn you Lucky!

Cereal Elect
I'm interested to see which cereal this fine country will be eating for the next 4 years. I love me the wholesome goodness of Obama O's, but sometimes I do have an urge for some sugary sweet Cap'n McCain's. But let's face it, neither of them are perfect. You'll always feel the need to add something to Obama O's like a spoonful of sugar or bananas or something, and Cap'n McCain's cut the roof of your mouth. It's a lose/lose.
click on them there links to hear a frisky little jingle for each candidate
