Girl, You Were Fractured

We've been enjoying some holiday-themed evenings as of late, tonight being no exception. Yuula is extremely excited for Christmas. I think we can thank the Christmas episode of Yo Gabba Gabba for her yuletide indoctrination. I love that frigin show. She loves seeing the presents under the tree already, and even tho none of them are for her {yet} she still says "for me?" like such a sugarplum fairy that we have to lie to her. But that's okay.

So tonight we watched Holiday Inn and ate Christmas cookies. Laura's batch of peanut butter with hershey kiss atop is just exquisite this season. Yuula's got a hankering for these old classic films. She sat thru the whole thing, and a week or so ago I caught her fully entrenched in the opening scenes of It's A Wonderful Life over some raspberry yogurt. But Bing and Fred really got her zazzed because she was wired after the movie was over...

making faces...

pretending to go to work...

sword fighting...

amplifying carols and didgeridooing.

Tomorrow is more cookies and maybe some Nestor the Long-Eared Donkey, the only Christmas tale that makes me tear up.
