The Fleeting Snow Of An Early Valentine's

Fran's gotta work on Valentine's Day, and tho we're not big participants in this befuddling holiday, we decided to (ab)use it as an excuse to pamper ourselves with a delicious lunch & a movie. We love the Red Lobster, but for some reason never ever go. I think we've been twice. And we barely realized it because of our designer curtains, but it was also snowing out pretty heavily, so that made it seem like a possible adventure was at hand. Here's that:

Red Lobster was delicious, as expected. I especially enjoyed the cheddar bay biscuits (a given) and the new Southwest lobster rolls (they're new to me). For the main course Fran had a delicious helping of hand-breaded fried shrimp, garlic shrimp scampi & an oven-broiled fish fillet, also known as the Sailor's Platter. I had the cajun chicken linguini alfredo, a personal favorite that did not disappoint. For dessert Fran enjoyed a six-layer chocolate wave cake & I relished in the chocolate chip lava cookie. Pretty much one of the bets luches we've had in awhile.

Then we scooted over to Seacourt cinemas, sat in the car for a few minutes, and headed in to catch Strange Wilderness. Nothing remarkable here, but it was exactly what we were looking for. Highlights included hilariously inept overdubs to 1970's wildlife footage, the nitrous montage, the performace by Justin Long, and the now imfamous "doofus shark" scene. And I'm glad Steve Zahn is finally getting some leading roles. No masterpiece by any means, but it hit the spot. Let's say our record goes to four and a half out of four and a half.

And what Valentine's Day would be complete without a massive cardboard heart-shaped box overflowing with delectable bite-size chocolates? None I tell you.
