Grapefruits Are Gonna Roll

Ok. Let's get this out of the way. Tonight is the first Grapefruit league game of the preseason for Los Mets, which already seems a fitting name for the team whose diehard fans are calling .500 a victory for the upcoming season. Widdled down to just two proper superstars and a handful of ragamuffins, all projections are for dead last in the now uber competitive NL East, and it's hard to hope for otherwise. Of course if all these youngens like Duda, Davis, Murphy & Tejada start to really fulfill their promises and Jason Bay finally gets over the curse of coming to Queens, who knows what could happen. And maybe David Wright can make the most out of that new closer wall and Santana can finally give the Mets a no-hitter. At least they could try and keep it interesting.

On the upside, tickets will be cheap.
