Hello McLoud

You know, like Back to the Future, "Hello McFly!". No? On with it then.

We had a guest for dinner last night. A old friend, and just when I've reached the point in life where I can really say I have people I can classify as "old friends", so that maybe this was not than just any dinner but an actual turning point in my existence that would substantiate the miraculous evolution of man since the dawn of time... Or maybe it was just dinner.

Kevin McLoud, old friend (previously mentioned) from back in the Emerald Marquis days, living it up in Boston, running free like wild dogs, Kevin and I were. Since then we've both settled down, found our little spots in the world, our other halves and began to live the good life. Ten years later we catch up to fill each other in on it all over some Indian pizza and wine.

Kevin married Erika Holland, whom he was dating back when we all stomped the same grounds, so that's quite nice. They now have two kids, Brady 18 months and Kherington, who I think he said was just four months. They live on a nice fat plot of land up in Penn Yan New York where Kevin spends his days fixing up old trucks and riding his "crotch rocket" (a term I try to avoid at all costs) and Erika raises her children to become fine upstanding citizens and, at this point, probably keep food from dribbling down their chins.

We had a very nice night sitting around the dining room table, eating too much, drinking just enough, and reminiscing about the old days.

So much so that I pulled out an old photo album and we flipped thru photos from 2000 & 2001, recounting stories of jackass challenges & Dutch twirls & pterodactyl attacks. Sounds scary but those were good times.

Next time we'll meet up at their place. Hi Erika.
