Ⓜ

Camping fools. We used to come here a lot when I was a kid. I didn't recall, until we pulled up.

Surprise Dani!

Estlers took over the pool

I took over the hot tub

This was the beginning of what became a no holds barred, all bets off, no rules observed round of mini golf

Grandparents are weird

Then s'mores

Yuula didn't know how to make it work

So we stuck marshmallows all over her face instead

The last morning was quiet

We took the waterbaby down to the pool

Aesop LOVES watermelon

Katie And A New Class

Katie gets bored so she caomes and visits us for a little action. This time we gave her cherry pie, an FBI manhunt and a new dance class.

It's a new breed, some fresh faces, and a new Friday night schedule, one that I will not be attending again. See ya in June.

Then we wandered about town avoiding the manhunt in our front yard and got tacos, pizza, ice cream and then a street dancer named Brad who epitomizes the East Stroudsburg experience.

Song And Dance Before Bed

Georgia Is Wet

We were in Georgia, just visiting,at the end of June, just for a couple days. I don't remember much, but there was a lot of swimming. It's one thing Georgia does pretty well...

junk food as always, I think this kind of stuff is outlawed north of the Mason-Dixon

Aesop got in on the act

A silly-face photo is par for the course

Still winning the head hair handily, but I got competition in the facial hair department now.

For our one non-nautical themed event, we had dinner with Christina and her beau.

And then it was back in the pool

It's The After Jazz

song of the day

there'll be more of this me thinks

There's A Bear Out There

And Judee saved us all

The Dragon Exhales

I can't believe this shit right here. We were just there on Friday. We talk about going all the time. We make it every three or years now. What are the chances the place burns up the morning after we stock up on donuts and jerky. If we had known we would've savored the snacks a little more.

Here's to a quick comeback. Laura's gonna need more sunglasses soon.

She Would If We Let Her

What a life. What a mess. We think a deer slept there. She tried to eat the whole thing in one shot.

She would if we let her.

I Want A Personal Sunrise

They Dreamt

It's going to get real confusing as to what I've posted and what I haven't from the past few months. Also the timeline is gonna be like watching one of those Tarantino films.

I'm pretty Sure this was this morning. Or maybe it was yesterday morning. I definitely wasn't tomorrow morning. No. Tomorrow morning was in color.

Through Town & Country

We left for Georgia the morning after the recital and the van disaster. Managed to rent a brand new Town & Country. We didn't mind. Nicer car, better soundsystem, and we didn't have to the put the miles on the Quest. Win/Win/Win. Don't tell Progressive. But 14 hour drives don't make for good photos, so we stopped for lunch and let Yuula roll down some hill.

And back onto the road.

Is It Lyrical Genius?

here is a little montage of some of the other performances she had prepared way back on Laura's birthday/Father's Day

I think we need to get her a wireless mic

Ballerina Spares Tragedy

So I'm trying to remember back to highlights from the past few months to write about... I remember there was a day where I bought this sweet lawnmower...

$25. Can't beat it. I was pretty stoked. That is until 2 minutes later when thee sliding door to the van decided to break in the parking lot...

Yeah. That was less exciting. Had to take the door off the hinges and hope no one opened it.... you've all heard the story by now so I'll spare you the rerun.

Then a few moments later in another parking lot where my mother ran in to buy flowers I busted open the window trying to open the other door. That was a hoot alright. Good times. Good times.

Oh yeah. And Yuula had her dance recital. She was amazing. I cried. And there are the flowers my mother bought.

And we made my father sit in broken glass. :)

Garlic Finally

So not so much a flood gate as a slow drip, but where else to start remedying my procrastination than with a story about procrastination itself...

Garlic.

We woke up early on Sunday. We had full intention to work. I know. Sunday. Work. Makes no sense. But we have work to do. This will explained another day. But for now, we woke up and said NO. We. Will not. Work. On this day. And this is the time of year that we breeze thru for some reason that we breeze thru and then regret all that it has to offer. The transition from summer to fall has much to offer in the ways of festivals and gatherings that we find lovely and somehow always miss. Not this year. It's Sunday. And there's garlic.

But first; breakfast.

At which we had some celebrating to do. You see, Laura was celebrating her first day of maternity leave part deux. She is off for six weeks. These six weeks are going to be interesting. We are celebrating now, in case we don't have something to celebrate about later. So, cheers.

It wasn't long after we arrived at the garlic festival that Yuula was crowned Garlic Pope. She made her own crown. It took 47 minutes.

We found the garlic flock. I asked if they made garlic-scented sweaters out of them. The query was not met with a pleasant response.

Yuula got a unicorn tattoo. I can only imagine that it won't be long til this is done in permanent ink. And then it's not my problem.

Aesop was there, too. He didn't get a tattoo but, he still managed to have a good time.

Maybe because I was throwing his little ass in the air.

What do you think Laura chose?

Potato Sword!

No good way to eat this thing.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but this child was a dirty monkey.

Back?

Oh. Hey. What's up?

Raise your hand if you thought we may be dead. Yeah. For awhile we may have been. It's yet to be determined. But for right now, I'm gonna get back on the horse, because if I don't make it, at least there'll be a record and my story can go on. Don't worry Mom, I'm being hyperbolic. I'm not dying.

So I don't know where to start. It has been two months and we've had dance recitals, beachy retreats, late night roadside rendezvous, deep South discoveries, 80's box office backyard blockbusters, glamorous city gatherings, not so glamorous city gatherings, vibrating explorations, gender confusion, heartbreak, baby teeth, catching up with oldest/dearests friends, gowns and tuxedos, major life decisions, exploding glass, mustachioed children, corn poop, zippers of all kinds, the cheapest dinner we ever ate, the most expensive dinner we ever ate, which just so happens to be the fastest dinner we ever ate, record unemployment turn-arounds, miniature houses, a couple carnivals, luxury automobiles, a janitor's closet, ruptured ligaments, tattoo discussions, Mexican wedding cake, visiting Bostonians, childless peace, a celebration four years in the making, and celebration 87 years in the making, blue jell-O and a bean. There was even an instance where Laura and I found ourselves watching Billy Ocean videos in bed at 2am in complete non-ironic fashion. It's been weird.

And I could just leave it at that, but that would be leaving out so many fun details and memories and I just won't be able to live with myself if I don't write down every last one of them (that I can remember) for future and present generations to say "eh, who cares".

So, strap in, because the flood gates may have just opened...
