The List Is Ever-Growing

This is as fancy a Friday night as we have nowadays. Little supper, little sitcom, little storytime. Now who knows what. Maybe a movie, that we'll fall asleep to undoubtedly. Maybe I'll cut together all that Easter video I took. Probably not tho. I'm sick of sitting at the computer this week. Maybe I will collect some recipes. It's about time for spring harvest. 

But this is a work weekend for us. We have a lot of those. Monday is a day off and it better be damn nice out. We need  at least 15 hours in the yard, to start. That's just to scrape the rust off. The list is ever-growing.

Stepping Out Into Outside

This may be something to put down on the list of new additions to our future bathroom. The bathroom of which no one knows how far in the future it will exist. Right now, with the weather changing, it may be restricted to only rainy days, which does not bode well for the amount of work that needs to be done.

For now, the new closet is still keeping us busy, and there's a hallway to deal with to boot. We'll see how this goes.

Tonight was nice. Good dinner, chicken and snap peas. Catching up on a little comedy television. Playing a little tug o'war with the child, which she enjoys immensely. Cuddling on the couch, watching Wibbly Pig. We three ate a bag of carrots for dessert. ?. Judee ate on her bone. No construction. No projects. No nothing.

Shaking The Sleepies

The days following a holiday/anniversary break can be overwhelming. The need to do zero work during this past three day weekend was imperative, but we knew we'd pay for it. With a half completed closet and clothes turning the scale model of the Grand Canyon, that is only making things more exciting. And I've kicked over Yuulas Easter basket about four times a day, so I'm ready to smash me some plastic eggs. 

Other than that, nothing new. April is a good month, excited for spring, but I think it's 26 degrees right now, so nevermind. Maybe it'll give us another week to shake the sleepies.

What's A Cowgill?

I am to understand that yesterday was also opening day. Hard to get excited about a game versus the Padres, but also hard to get excited when you're a Mets fan period. I went to the bathroom at lunch and actually caught the first run of the year, scored by Buck I think off a Tejada single. Then after we ate and came back to play some photo hunt I saw the 7-2 gap and was content. Seems like I missed some action, but I'll have 161 more chances.

The Iron And The Candy

First things first...

Now onto the anniversary-ing. Six years here. Candy is a theme. Iron is a them. Double theme. Not sure why but we ain't arguing. So we went to Callie's Candy Kitchen and everyone filled their pockets with delicious treats. 

Yuula got some gummi bears and a Hello Kitty lolli, Laura got chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels and I, coconut clusters. Then we got this emblematic #6 made of milk chocolate, and some chocolate covered sunflower seeds which are magically delicious.

After some antiquing in the drizzle we hit up Van Gilder's Jubilee for some lunch.

and this was all that was left of Yuula's quesadilla.

As a bonus we got to play some photo hunt, which we are now terrible at, and I saw some of the Mets game at the bar.

The thing on the left was listed as a kitchen utensil, but we're not really sure what all those nuggets do. I think there's a bottle opener in there and maybe a grip to tenderize your meats, but I dunno. And a frog.

Not thematic. I just wanted one to hang fruits from.

And some cast iron skillets so we can eat fajitas like a boss.

Okay. Six years. This is the itchy one coming up. We'll see how it goes. But the theme for seven is wool and copper, so that sounds worth it.

All Easter, All Now

It was Easter!

Yuula got dressed up

We watched the claymation story of the Easter Bunny. It is quite suspect.

She needed no instruction this year.

She was cleaning up the place

She quite enjoyed the huny

And of course she got right to wearing her new dress

Laura whipped up some goldenrod

We played with some of Yuula's new toys and the watched her new Cinderella movie, ate popcorn and drank chocolate milk, which was pretty awesome

Then we busted out some chocolate

-worked on out closet for most of the evening, picked for dinner, put Yuula to bed and watched the season finale of Walking Dead, appropriate Easter viewing. Not disappointed, but not blown away either.

Adding Gold And Eating Dye

After a fairly long day we finally got around to dying eggs around 9pm. Yuula was up for it. And she only broke two eggs. 

The she tried to eat one of the Paas pellets.They do look a little like candy. 

She took the painting off the eggs quite seriously.

  

She had some kind of kanji influenced designs going tonight.

Not too many to find, but enough for eggs goldenrod.

The Closest To A Closet We've Been In Some Time

Well, there it is. Hope it works. I see a lot of mistakes. Laura is happy. We had to hold off on filling it up with clothes til after we touched up the paint and stain that I trashed while installing and hammering and general beating my head against the wall. But at least now it looks like a closet. Closest to a closet we've been in some time.  

Laura's side still needs the built-ins. Custom of course.
