Hamstring Judee
We thought she hurt her leg. She has been limping for two days and we had no idea why. But this morning she's fine. Laura thinks she pulled a hamstring. I didn't know dog's could do that. I didn't know dogs had hamstrings.
I don't think they do

A Huntsman Or A Player
I finally pieced together this whole movie, which winds a lovely little tale of Sixto Rodriguez. If you have no idea, then you should take a watch, because having no idea who Rodriguez was is kind of the point of the whole film.

The Iron And The Candy
First things first...
Now onto the anniversary-ing. Six years here. Candy is a theme. Iron is a them. Double theme. Not sure why but we ain't arguing. So we went to Callie's Candy Kitchen and everyone filled their pockets with delicious treats.
Yuula got some gummi bears and a Hello Kitty lolli, Laura got chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels and I, coconut clusters. Then we got this emblematic #6 made of milk chocolate, and some chocolate covered sunflower seeds which are magically delicious.
After some antiquing in the drizzle we hit up Van Gilder's Jubilee for some lunch.
Laura of course got a steak sandwich
I, a nice chipolte baja grinder
and this was all that was left of Yuula's quesadilla.
As a bonus we got to play some photo hunt, which we are now terrible at, and I saw some of the Mets game at the bar.
Check out our iron finds from the day (note, all items are not in fact iron)...
a little wrought iron for garden decorating
a bootscrape to maximize futile efforts
The thing on the left was listed as a kitchen utensil, but we're not really sure what all those nuggets do. I think there's a bottle opener in there and maybe a grip to tenderize your meats, but I dunno. And a frog.
Not thematic. I just wanted one to hang fruits from.
And some cast iron skillets so we can eat fajitas like a boss.
Okay. Six years. This is the itchy one coming up. We'll see how it goes. But the theme for seven is wool and copper, so that sounds worth it.

Healthy In The House
We had our first CSA load to pick up yesterday. It was a delicious mix of lettuces, radish, beets, sugar snap peas (which were almost gone before we got home), kohlrabi, scallions, garlic vinegar, strawberries, potatoes, zucchini, sage, mint, along with some other things I failed to identify before I left. We'll figure it out.
Yuula helped fill the basket.
Now the task at hand is finding a good recipe that incorporates all of these things and then make that.
Like she's stealing stuff.
Anyone know what this is?

Who's That Dude?
Now, I've seen the Wizard of Oz a respectable number of times, and not once do I remember this dude riding the wooden horse with Dorothy & the gang. I don't really recall a wooden horse either but I'm willing to let that slide because horses, especially wooden ones, don't demand the kind of attention I'm guessing this mystery dude would. We came across this is at some new "antique" shop down on Main street today. I'm not buying it. I'm not buying any of it.

Mystery Peanut Danger
I found ripped up scraps of paper on the floor in the hall. I scooped them up and began to reassembled, awaiting the moment a secret message would reveal itself to me. I was not disappointed.
That's how bored I am.

All Ye Krupps Gather
The main focus of the trip out West was the massive gathering of Krupps that happened one afternoon by the lake. I am proud of myself, I could name most of them and trace back to which aunt/uncle they came from. My side of the family is not this confusing.

Look at 'em all!

With this many little kids you're gonna get many different moods.

Uncle Terry up to no good I'm sure of it.

Spiking the bratwurst or something.

A Krupp reunion is never short on corn.

Here's Dave's contribution to the family tree, with Grandma & Grandpa up top. Not bad.

Yuula was ready for more lake.

Our best attempt at a family lake shot.

Madison decided to keep Yuula company on the ride to Fort Wayne.

The ride to Indiana also heeded the mystery of the floating toll ticket.

Bound To Tangible Gifting
It's Laura's birthday. She is 25. So far I bet her birthday is awesome because, well, she's still in bed. If I could put sleep in a box with a bow I'd be set for every birthday and Christmas. Alas, I am bound to tangible gift giving. We'll see how I did, when she wakes up...
Censored, I know, but I can't show you the gifts. She has a bad habit of waking up and checking out the blog from bed to see if I'm up to anything and it's worth waking up. Let's see if this provokes her.

Mystery Outlined
Headed out to Jackson today to try and salvage some building materials for this weekend. I wanted to get some photos of Yuula there but the rain chased us off in a hurry. We got two van/truck-fuls of supplies tho. A good start for...
Can you guess what we're gonna do?

League Of Extraordinary Mammary Glands
Laura goes to these La Leche League (LLL) meetings every week and, as a guy, I can't help but wonder what goes on there. Buncha moms walking around a gym breastfeeding their babies with tea and cookies maybe? Do they take turns? Do they keep score? Is it instructional in nature? Are there fights? Is there an intermission? She took some photos for me last night, nothing revealing, so I can have a better idea as to what goes on...
I still have no clue, but it looks wild.

This May Go Unsolved
Noticed a garbage can missing this morning. I thought,
"Who would steal a garbage can?".
"Who would steal a garbage can?".
Better question now is, "Who would steal a garbage can, drag it 150
yards into the woods, and go thru it like they lost something?".
yards into the woods, and go thru it like they lost something?".
Is that the culprit?

Hiking A Mystical Wood
We did it again. Stumbled upon a mysteriously fantastic little secret wood that is, seemingly untouched/unseen by human hands/eyes for quite some time. I'm not sure how it happened. I remember "Hey what's that over there?" but I don't even remember who said it. It must've been one of us, right?
Then we took in the view along a lake
