Today I did something that I haven't done in literally decades. Went to a dentist. I wasn't nervous as much as I was anxious, mostly because this is the only legitimate vision I have in my head of what going to the dentist that I can approximate...

Needless to say, it was way less song and dance, and way more outdated magazine articles and heavy lead aprons, but it was exhilarating nonetheless. I did not get sprayed in the mouth and asked to say 'Ahhhh' but I did imagine that amazing Frank Oz camera angle when he was digging away at my molars. A few xrays, a short cleaning and checkup and I was set free. Of course I need a few fillings and a root canal but hey, I got to read about NBC upcoming fall lineup.

Sleep It Off Big Girl

Sleepy girl better get some sleep. She's got visitors coming tomorrow and they are expecting to be entertained. Can't let them down because of some sore gums kiddo. You're one now. Time to toughen up. Sleep on it.

Our Word On Teeth

We had a breakthrough yesterday, in that teeth broke through Yuula's gums. I noticed her gnawing on a toy more energetically than normal so I jammed my finger in there and felt two sharp little bumps. We tried to take a photo but the girl has a strong will an d that strong will did not want her gums photographed. You're gonna have to take our word on this.

Out With The Green, In With The Blue

I've decided on a New Year's resolution: take better care of my teeth. It's a three step process.

1. New toothbrush. I got it for Christmas. My old toothbrush I've had for about 6 years now. It is green, but it wasn't always. The new one is blue and is called an Oral-B Pulsar. It pulses. It has an on & off switch. I really like it. It makes me brush nice and slow. I pulled a piece of apple skin that's been in there since Monday.
2. Floss. Never did it. I think we have some, but for some reason I am very excited about getting some floss going in there. I think I'm gonna find some hidden treasures.
   
3. Mouthwash. It's delicious.

So that's all I'm promising to right now. I may think of more as the night goes on. Never been one to make resolutions, or at last follow thru with them. They're usually forgotten by President's Day.
