This past Tuesday the word f-bomb became official language according to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, who added the expletive surrogate to its list of annual additions along with sexting, flexitarian, obesogenic, energy drink and life coach.
I an attempt to track down the history of the word they found that it was during a 1988 interview with Gary Carter as he addressed his new mission to rid himself and his vocabulary of such unnecessary profanities. I wonder how that went...
