A Meshing Of Matters

Having three kids running about the house is significantly kookier than just the one. That's why yesterday we left the house as early as possible, with no particular destination in mind. We caught wind of an Easter gathering featuring bunny races, egg hunts, french toast, face painting and plenty of photo ops. We decided to take a look for ourselves and not to much surprise we found no bunny races, no face painting, an egg hunt that wouldn't have been challenging for blind monkeys, few if any photo ops and a loose interpretation of the words french and toast. We did our due diligence, steered clear of the coupon addled child attack squad and slowly backed away. Attempts were made at Easter Bunny group photo.

This was the best one.

By chance the GPS navigation miscalculated the precise coordinates of the aforementioned Easter breakfast and dropped us in the parking lot of one of the Poconos many love complexes. Heart shaped beds and champagne glass hot tubs were behind those cold cement walls I'm sure but given the date and weather, the coincidence was too much to ignore. We stopped quickly. No carseats were unbuckled.

Before reaching our next destination the two youngest girls had fallen asleep and there was not an adult brave enough to incur the wrath of a little shake and wake, so we dropped Asriel & Laura off to do some quick clothes shopping while Brian & I caught up on all things Dawkins and Hitchens while Madison fashioned toys out of interior car parts and my face.

It had been decided that if Maryann's were to be open after hibernation that we would stop in and receive the season's first ice cream treats. To our luck it was and no further discussion was entertained as we piled out, donned in coat and scarf, wondering why there was a lack of the usual crowds drawn in by the favorite local hang. Could it be the 30° weather? Maybe. But to us that was just all more the reason to be out at a roadside ice cream stand because you can take your time eating large cones when they don't melt.

Home for pizza and movies. Madison actually wanted to watch Empire Strikes Back. No argument here. Introduced Brian & Asriel to Idiot Abroad. They loved it. Next thing I know I'm waking up this morning, albeit to a screaming baby. I guess she's ready to go again.
