They Can't All Be, And They Shouldn't Anyways

One of those days. We all have them. Sorta went by without much fuss, but you're still glad you woke up and got out of bed. Yuula was nuts and did not trash her room. I had lotsa of phone calls and very few emails. Laura got a new tire on the van and cooked a delicious dinner.

We did laundry this evening but laughed at Yuula the whole time as she threw clothes and climbed the mountain of pillows and blankets on our bed. We're supposed to be doing some home renovation research, her on hers me on mine, but I'm blogging. Shh don't tell. 

The Great Cake Delay

For her birthday I made Laura dinner...

It turned out okay tho, I thought. I'm not a steak eater but I ate this one. The avocado spread was a little rich tho. But I do prefer boiled asparagus and the little potatoes were just fine. The kohlrabi/apple slaw is a curious sidedish and I enjoyed it as much as I expected to, not being a fan of slaw in general.

The kicker was that each dish incorporated ingredients from our CSA, garlic vinegar in the steak, garlic scapes and potatoes, slaw had the kohlrabi and mint, and asparagus had asparagus. Mmm.

The girls came over and colored with Yuula. Christine did caricatures of everyone. They're not worth seeing. Then the girls hit the town and stayed out pretty late.

I watched some clouds.

The cake would have to wait. Hope it lasts til next June 15th.

I Could Also Use A Neck Rub

A nice long day of good hard work is usually rewarded with a big tasty meal.

Pork chops, asparagus and sweet potato fries for dinner and at the table again. We're on a roll.
