Pivotal and influential to probably 98% of the music on my iPod (and yours), R.E.M. spent 31 years (31 years!) churning out quality tunes and classic underground moments in audio recording ingenuity. Some of their "worsts" are my favorites. And their masterpieces are undeniable. They broke up yesterday. Today's playlist is set.
