A Mattress For Yard

During the winter months our mattress has to take the place of the entire yard. It's not an easy task, nor will it get any easier, but so far it's stepped up to fill the void.

Consider The Squalor

We considered the squalor we were living in and decided it was time to act. When it started to rain yesterday we locked ourselves inside and, for maybe the 15th time since we've owned the home, we re-worked our bedroom. It was probably the only way we could motivate ourselves to actually clean the place up.

Entering Our Blue Period

We all have one. And it has nothing to do with being sad. Only that we'll be surrounded in blue, every morning and night and Wednesdays til noon.

It did not come out how we saw in our heads. It never does. A touch brighter than we expected, but we like it because anything's better than the puke-green-brown walls we used to have.

The office now faces north so I can keep my eye on those lummoxes up in Utica.

Pinking Up The Place

Laura's vacation has begun. First thing on the list is apparently to paint the room. I didn't even know that was on the list nonetheless at the top spot. But we combined this with things like finishing my new closet and replacing standalone shelf units with custom built ins. Why not when my custom woodworking is top notch. But we actually made a good deal of progress yesterday, taping and sawing and spackling and sanding and painting and drilling and trimming and ... that's it. Today will be concentrated outside, even tho the paint is not done, tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so, inside jobs can wait.

We're going for this subtle transformation.
