Damn You Gervais, Every Time

Last night we watched the entire first season of Derek, because all seven episodes are still shorter than watching Lincoln. We loved it. We love everything Ricky Gervais does. It was schmaltzy and silly and perverse and sweet and uncomfortable and everything we've known his work to be, but through yet another lens. Walking that awkward line of hilarity and drama and honesty and sadness and male-pattern baldness wonderfully, and Karl KILLS it in his acting debut, pretty much by playing Karl with bad hair.

Can't wait for season 2.

Gervais Surveys

I realized the other day, after a brief yet embarrassing exchange with some friends from across the pond, that I am woefully under-exposed to the genius of he who is Ricky Gervais. I'll spare you (and my pride) the details, but it has forced me to hunt and gather as much as I could find as much material I could find for free online and begin what I can only describe as an in-depth investigation into all I apparently have been missing. And why not?

He's frigin hilarious!
