Some Good Eatin's
I don't know what's going one lately, but I have come to the table for some unexpectedly delicious meals. Random breakfast heaven and surprise delightful dinners. I must've done something right.
Maybe we can open a restaurant. One small business at a time, eh.

Busy Baking Girls
Today Yuula and her mother made a vat of turkey soup, six loaves of zucchini/blueberry bread and a batch of chocolate crinkle cookies. All in a days' work.
Making herself comfortable in the bakery.
The elusive Starberry.

Even Leave The Green Guys
You can have your Giada and Guy Ferrari and Paula Dean. I will take these little videos made by Sigur Rós leader Jonsi and his boyfriend Alex.
Check out that blender!
Check out their website where you can see them make more food, like Nammi Nammi, and download their charming little recipe book.
This is gonna be a good summer.

Quinoa, A Lynchian Recipe
Anyone making quinoa for Thanksgiving?
I've had some quinoa laying around the house for a couple weeks and kind of forgot about it. Until, that is, I saw this little doozy and got all sorts of motivated to serve it up, with a PBR of course.

It's a two-parter...
Cooking has never been creepier.

The Fast And The Falleous
Oh, hey. Sorry.
Been a busy/weird week. Getting ready to roadtrip but, let me catch you up on.... well not much really.
Hamma and Hampa came up Monday. Yuula helped cook.
I know the video is upside down, but if I fix everything for them how will they ever learn?
This was Tuesday, literally.
Yuula got in on the debate drinking game on Wednesday. Girl was dddddrunk!
And then Thursday she pretended to help pack but really just abused her toys.
Nothing going on today, except everything. I have given up and who knows what time we'll leave tomorrow. I will wait for the other girl to get home and motivate me.

This Boy Is Exhausted
Big day tomorrow. I think the girls are finishing up in the kitchen and I am getting ready to call it a night. Lotsa cleaning up the yard and stringing a few lights for tomorrow. Rain came around 3 and halted the process but we're supposed to have some sun tomorrow so... there's time.
Big day tomorrow tho. Yes I can't believe it's been a year. It feels like 20.

All In Her Days Off
Pretty awesome taco huh? Well, as always, Laura's day off went way too fast. She got on a spring cleaning kick at 5am even tho the trees still look like frosted mini wheats. She bought a sewing machine. We better get some new drapes. I got a box of pants that need mending that I've been holding onto for years. Maybe I'll get that out. I listened to new albums by the Strokes, Timber Timber and Explosions in the Sky. The Mets won 16-3 over the Cardinals. Laura made meals for the next two weeks. Sausage vegetable soup, beef barley and something we call tomoylikash. Yuula ate some oatmeal with gusto. Then we had taco dinner. I think you're caught up.

Last Night Made Girls Sleepy
The subtle scent of last evening dining still lingered as I brewed my morning teas. I think I woke Danielle up with the gentle wail of the kettle. Poor placement for a guest bedroom I suppose. She's back to bed, as are the other two girls still. I think I have some time to recap last evening...

Girl talk over sizzling turkey & spicy sausage

Yuula learns to make an authentic Italian gravy at a very young age

Laura, ignoring all predisposition, has a difficult time choosing the evenings liquid accompaniment

It was that good

Yuula will forever associate her Aunt Danielle with garlic breath
The evening ended with us flipping thru some stand-up from Gaffigan & Galikianakis on the Google TV (that's a lot of G's) and passing out at an all too early hour. Today the plan includes french toast, fabric & falafel. We're moving backwards thru the alphabet.

Fat Anne's Intestines
My favorite, and only reason to go to any American mall these days is Auntie Anne's, so you can imagine my joy when I we picked up a box to make our own at home. Just like anything tho, it turned into a minor disaster with pretzels resembling swollen intestines or a drawer full of tangled power cords. But the one of a kind taste was there and that's all that really matters. Isn't it?

Better Than Campbell's
Laura's been brewing up a storm in the kitchen lately. Every time I go in there she's got something stewing on the stovetop. She's gone soup crazy. She's become the soup Nazi. But I can't complain, because it' good soup. I been eating it everyday. Lunch, dinner... that's it. Breakfast would be nasty.
Ham & 16 Bean

Turkey Lentil

Chickenoodle

She says she's got plans for a french onion and maybe a beef barley. I want a nice winter root. Mmmmm rutabaga.

Kicking Goats And Kidney Stones
It's been an interesting Thanksgiving to say the least, and that was before we even put the bird in the oven. But all turned out well. Food was made and consumed. Football was watched, amidst some 007. The turkey cooked faster than we expected so it was a bit of a mad dash to cook the rest of the food to coincide with the poppers, but it worked out perfectly. Pretty perfectly. Next year we could do with less goats and healthier kidneys.

It snowed

Yuula's first snow

She loves her Aunt Danielle

It's hard to photograph snow

All that was left
