Emergency Puppy Run

(from October 17th)

We brought Susie down to Flemington to pick up her new pup. I think she has named her Dinah, but we're not too sure yet.

She likes Aesop, or at least how his hands taste anyway.

This is how she sat all the way home. So far, good pup.

Perfect Fit Turkey Hat

(from September 7th)

Eileen had a picnic at her rehab and we were invited. Free food? Easy answer. Plus it was a lovely day for a picnic and our baskets were still recovering from last time.

While we waited for Susie Yuula raided the orchard. Cash money. That's a cash money apple.

I like to throw children in scenic environments. What can I say?

First things first; horse rides for the kids. She looks smitten don't she>

Seconds after this photo was taken, the flower disappeared, never to be heard from again.

One of the better group shots I've been party to...

...because he killed this hat!

Monday, Medic, Maze, Molly

Geeez, look at this fall. Went to pick up Susie for an eye appointment Monday. Let's take a look and see how it went...

This is what Susie does the second we hit the road. Her eye appointment went well. No issues, and a new prescription. Whoopity doo. So now that we got her, what can we torture her with....

Hey Susie... ever been in a corn maze before?

The kids new Radio Flyer working out beautifully

Aesop loves it in here

The owner said Yuula could have a free cookie if she sat on the pumpkin like Cinderella. I don't remember that part of the movie, but, hey... free cookie.

On the way home Susie had the energy to stop in and introduce us to the infamous Molly. We thought she may be a figment of her imagination.... but No!

Molly has a lovely farm and Aesop got to pick the nose of some lovely horses.

We gotta get these girls a horse.

Lost The Leggings

Spent the first day of May in the Scranton area, a place not often visited, but when Yuula came home with a bloody heel from snug taps, we knew we'd have to make the trip to our shoe dealer. Lump in the Susie/Eileen duo and a few errands of necessity and you've got a full day. But first, we had to find Susie...

things are blooming

We Weren't In The Neighborhood

Picked up Susie and headed out to Scranton. She had never had the Chicken Makhani at New Amber so, everyone must be initiated. Plus Laura has been dying for a pint of Taj Mahal for 9 months.

Aesop likes the smell of curry. That bodes well.

We went over to see Eileen and she seemed to be doing quite well. We even got her outside, since it was like 60 degrees. We were sweating. This summer's gonna be ugly.

A Place For Sticks And Twine

Today I spent most of my time setting up Susie's new iPod, which I'm pissed about already because when I bought a new iPod back like five years ago the biggest one they had was the 120GB. I was told that was as big as they came now and I had no other option. But Susie got the 160GB the other day, so that little turd at the Apple store either lied to me or somebody's got some explaining to do. Add to that the fact that Susie listens to questionable 90's music (Will Smith, Blaque, Ginuwine) and genre-defying chart toppers (Ricky Martin, Dixie Chicks, Marc Anthony). At least she's got some classics in there (CSNY, Joplin, Hendrix, Gaye) to balance it all out. Hi Susie. I'm gonna get you some new music.

Then we spent the rest of the day moving Christmas decor out of the house and finally making space to walk. Laura's is having some severe nesting syndrome (SNS) but the poor bird can't find a tree to put her sticks and twine. I'm working on it.

Priorities. Music THEN new baby.

From Slough To Ka-Pow In Under Two Hou....rs

The ripple effects of an accidental [pun] appointment with the dentist and the intention of killing three birds with one stone found us late on NYE way up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, which is every bit as wonderful as the Americanized late hit television series The Office depicts it, as in, not very wonderful. But as we do, we make the best of it, and managed to have an entertaining dinner at the only joint open at 9pm, one Ruby of Tuesday (still the only entity giving any purpose to that specific day of the week), with the company on Susie who downed her fair share of classic margaritas amongst a multitude of randomly shaped/colored pills from a gold brass box she keeps hidden somewhere on her person for just such an occasion, what we can only hold responsible for us now being able to add such visually magical terms as "the shrimp dance" and ... well, let's move on from it.

Laura got her steak so all was right with the world and Yuula enjoyed the challenge in capturing a photo of diners as they stuff their faces one last time for the year.

I felt a bit like I was watching it all happen, as I went for the 8oz of malbec and overheard the vast array of resolutions being made and subsequently broken before they even saw the light of day.

Then the baby boy dropped before the ball in Times Square.

We brought Susie back to her place, recovered from a day of highs and lows, and began the winding roads to our place just before 11pm. By the time we got to our home and got our shoes off, ready for bed, throwing in the towel on 2013, we (Yuula) got a 3rd wind and decided we'd take up our young new neighbors on their earlier invite to their place for a little Auld Langing. When we walked in the door it was 11:44. At 11:45 I was halfway thru a pint of Yuengling. At 11:46 I had a second, as we caught up with some of our other neighbors we'd met once before, but never scraped any surfaces. They were silly, and well ahead of us on the inebriation, considering the four of us were drinking for one. We giggled, one girl admitted to just vomiting moments before. This was a party. We found shelter from the beer pong in the warmth of the front room (I'm not sure this houses rooms have designations yet), as a mad rush to arm the parties occupants with things that make pops and smoke, including the three year old, and as the countdown hit 00:05 someone threw a blanket over me and ran away. I was thinking how strange this all seemed when we started hearing loud blasts coming from just outside, so....

Happy New Years. We were home and in bed by 12:06am.

Susie's Stash

So today didn't turn out exactly as we thought, but we got almost everything done. Susie to the mall, to her doctor, visit Eileen, Susie to the pharmacy, Laura to her doctor, Laura to the pharmacy, dinner and a movie. And along the way we took Susie grocery shopping, which is where we caught this doozy...

That right there is 14 pints of ice cream. And I believe this is just for now til New Year's.

And a chocolate bar.

Someday.

Getting Susie Some Health

Susie's been having some issues with her asthma and apparently a little bit of bronchitis, so we hauled her off to the ER Friday night for some good times and laughs and near choking deaths. She's better now, home and drugged up good. I have a feeling we'll see her in a couple days...

Winding Down With Waffles

It was a long weekend, and an even longer Sunday, and at 9pm we still hadn't eaten dinner. The closest immediate place was the Waffle House, which I think Laura was counting on, so waffles it was.

Between Laura, Susie, Yuula and myself we ate 6 waffles and all other sorts of breakfast foods and I got to pick the tunes out on the jukebox since we were the only ones there.

Always An Adventure With That Susie

We've been seeing a lot of Susie lately. I gotta say, they never disappoint. Always come home with a story when those two are involved.

This was the night that we accidentally had dinner at a Mexican biker bar and all had diarrhea the next day.

Yuula going buck crazy on a balloon while the girls take 5 hours to buy 3 pairs of pants.

Learning to eat lo mein like a lady.
