About two weeks ago Laura & I were driving down to Jackson to help in my parents move. It was late and we were tired but we remember passing this insane Halloween display, something like a skeleton cheerleader pyramid. It was all a bit of a blur but I really wanted to see it again. So I drove, not really knowing where it was exactly but knowing how to get back down to my parents house. Luckily it wasn't all that far from where I needed to be and I took a few shots.
Worth the ride? Eh, yeah I think so. It sucks I had to see it in daylight. The thing looked alot more sinister in the dark, as you can imagine. Should've taken a photo first time but it kinda freaked us out. Where'd they get all them skeletons anyhow?

The Mouth Alone Took An Hour
We decorate our tree on Christmas Eve. We carve our pumpkin on Halloween Eve. We won't be participating in any dishing out of candies tho, as we will be neck deep in pageantry at J. Birney Crum. That's fine tho, considering how we got pillaged by a group of teenagers in costumes of questionable effort last year. Ripped jeans are not a costume, unless everyday is Halloween. What kids'll do for a mini Snickers. Oh glorious Halloween.
So we carved. The innards always make for a good photo.
Laura froze them so over the next year she can add pumpkin to every meal. I can't wait for pumpkin spaghetti, pumpkin pancakes, and pumpkin seed sandwich on rye with mayonnaise. Sorry Miracle Whip. Mmmmmmm.
This little kitten pretty much named herself last night when she decided to exhibit her insatiable appetite for anything pumpkin.
We couldn't keep her away. So she will known as Peterpeter. We'll see if that sticks.
And now, without any further ado... our Halloween Travis-&-Laura-O-Lantern for the '09.
I don't really even remember carving it. I must've been in the zone. Here's a few closeup shots, enlarged to show detail.
Awesome, I know right.
Happy Halloween!

Hiking A Mystical Wood
We did it again. Stumbled upon a mysteriously fantastic little secret wood that is, seemingly untouched/unseen by human hands/eyes for quite some time. I'm not sure how it happened. I remember "Hey what's that over there?" but I don't even remember who said it. It must've been one of us, right?
Then we took in the view along a lake

We Believe The Pumpkin Picks You
Today was our annual pumpkin picking. I'm sure everyone else in the world got their pumpkins back in say, uhm, August, but Laura & I choose to celebrate holidays as close to their actual dates as possible. Crazy I know. Plus we didn't realize Halloween was this Saturday until say, uhm, yesterday. So off to the patch!
You're Kissing Chase Utley And That's It
Only caught a few innings of the game last night due to rehearsal, driving thru woods with no station reception and then falling asleep, but I did manage to catch both of Chase Utley's homeruns. That's just ridiculous. I will admit I was pulling for the Yankees as of gametime last night, but after last night's game, YIKES! Good luck Yankee fans. They looked bad, and if you ask me, they blew their only shot at an easy win. So the Mets fan in me dies a little today when I say, man Chase Utley and the Phillies are a good team.
The Apocalypse Wuz Here
Man yesterday was crazy. My one school had to cancel rehearsal because over half the kids were out with that swine flu, then my other school had to shut down half the building because a mersa strain of staph broke out. Add to that the rain that's been falling for almost three days straight and the fact that Shoprite no longer sells Archway cookies.... the world is definitely over.
