Motherz, With A 'Z'
Yuula was so proud that she made he own Motehr's Day card this year. She kind of taught herself how to write those letters. I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
This year we upped the ante and brought Mommy breakfast in bed. Mainly because I knew she wouldn't get up for anything less than food in her lap.
I had a few surprises up my sleeves. First stop on the list was Columcille. Yeah I don't know what it is either, but it's awesome, enormous, and we're going to have to go back real soon.
Then after a short detour, we finally pulled into Remembrance Stables, where I got Laura some time on top of a horse. Of course that time would have to be another day because even trainers are Moms to someone, but they were nice enough to give us a little tour of the place. Stayed tuned for that little adventure...
Look at the size of this damn horse
Yuula got to see the brand new foal
I really feel a strong bond with this guy
Next: lunch. And for some reason no one serves lunch on Mother's Day. Just a lot of late breakfasts and early dinners. But Mother wanted a sandwich, so after trying Thisilldous, Riverton Inn, and Johnny's we ended up back in Stroudsburg at Sweet Creams, and you know what, it's where we'd rather've been.
After lunch we took a nice stroll down Main Street and splurged on Starbucks. We got Oprah-approved chai lattes because, I don't know it felt maternal. They were okay.
We drove around for a bit and then stopped off on route 447 for a little riverside action. Laura fed the boy and Yuula picked flowers and threw them into the stream.
The sun was going down and I know all Laura had on her mind was pork steak.
Kind of like us, in cat form.
there it is!
We threw the boy on the swing, and he just lumped there
We ended the day with a little hammock time for Mommy and her mommied

Caught A Glimpse Of Cat
Finally saw the babies that remain. She lost two, that I know of, and it looks like she has two left. A solid black and a white with black spots. But the white with black spots has three legs! Sooooo, 1 and 3/4?

Monumental On Mother's Day
It's become a sort of tradition (for a whole year now) that we plant flowers on Mother's Day, alongside most of the nation I'm sure. My parents came up to spoil the child and to mooch free liquor. But they also helped out around the yard in what has proven to be a set of enormous tasks we set forth for this summer, once again.
it started with eggs
flowers emerged from every corner
Yuula mowed the lawn
for a small fee you could take wheelbarrow rides
there were even kittens to add adorability
See
we got bloody and dirty
I managed a 5 minute hammock nap
then celebrate with quesadillas on the grill, margaritas & cob corn
and RHUBARB!

Well Played Mayans
This is a combination of mandarin orange and animal cracker chewed together and spat out, courtesy of our girl Yuula
Our router committed suicide last night. Really couldn't have been worse timing. But I did get a free day in the yard to start the white rock removal process. Got about 13/15 thru the one side. Didn't touch the others. Dirty work that makes the shower gritty.
I talked with Curtis today, back and forth between his customer base. We made some ambitious plans for end of July. Let's see what happens.
We've been drinking white because our reserves are low.
This happened...
...and this will never get old...
And Dick Clark dies the same year the world is predicted to end. Well played Mayans.

The Collective, Not The Cuteness
I don't go bananas over cute kitten videos, but with this one, the fact that someone assembled an orchestra and commissioned a symphony to soundtrack the "event" is awesome.
