Easternesses
In all the hub-bub we still managed to find a few minutes to relax on Easter, before the crowds came and demanded eggs...
so we relaxed on the hammock for a bit
the boy got Grandma love
Easter in uncontrollably colorful
Yuula upped the ante and demanded a formal dinner
rhubarb pie... what else
by some Easter miracle our dining room lights started to come on after being out for about a month
indeed

The Shape Of Yard To Come
I worked my shorts to death this past weekend.
Worked on my Popeye arms and finally got all this rock raked out into a new parking area. A crooked one, but we'll figure that out later.
Kind of hard to see but I laid many more flat rocks in the new walkway, started our arbor, and Laura yet again transplanted a ton of stuff. It will be a miracle if we get any flowers and vegetables this summer.
Having our own personal cooling station made the heat much more tolerable.
And any day with a rhubarb pie in it is a good day.

Monumental On Mother's Day
It's become a sort of tradition (for a whole year now) that we plant flowers on Mother's Day, alongside most of the nation I'm sure. My parents came up to spoil the child and to mooch free liquor. But they also helped out around the yard in what has proven to be a set of enormous tasks we set forth for this summer, once again.
it started with eggs
flowers emerged from every corner
Yuula mowed the lawn
for a small fee you could take wheelbarrow rides
there were even kittens to add adorability
See
we got bloody and dirty
I managed a 5 minute hammock nap
then celebrate with quesadillas on the grill, margaritas & cob corn
and RHUBARB!

Big Foods
Must've been a meat sale today
These rhubarb are serious this year. Looks like someone's gonna have plenty o' pie this summer.
Yuula ate more dinner than I did
This is HUGE! I will be spreading this on toast, bagels, chips and someday I'll build up the courage to spread it on a Biscoff cookie. The combination will either rip a hole in the time/taste continuum or they will cancel each other out and I will lose all ability to use my tastebuds. Seems worth the risk.

Rhubarbian Consequence
On the Krupp farm it's "kill or be killed". It's also "ask and ye shall receive", so when Laura asked for some rhubarb to take home we were not disappointed. Good thing we have a van now.
Rhubarb is surprisingly easy to harvest.
Madison gave moral support.
This is the mandatory rhubarb pickin' hat and knife set.
Laura already made one pie, and it was her best yet.
We got plenty more. Who's coming for dinner?
