Turkey In Sandwich

View from the backyard, Eric & Fatih;s new place. Quite cute. Already planning a go-back.

With so much to keep track of,  it's easy to mistake the baby for the turkey.

Here was the hideous turkey cake we brought. I was only slightly offended they couldn't work it into the centerpiece.

The turkey butter was of course the feature dish.

Eric & Fatih added a little style with photo placecards.

Yuula's was too cool.

I looked like I might be ready to do some damage.

Faith, Arzu, Erol, Yuula, Laura, me, Joe-Mama, Lady Brust, and Eric behind the camera

A of course my favorite pie.

Eric and Fatih did a great job, and Laura and I really enjoyed doing next to nothing for Thanksgiving. Thanks boys!

Tree Seat Session

We went for a walk on Easter and Laura ordered a session with the crooked tree. 3 year old Yuula was tentative, but I think 30 year old Yuula might really like these.

Soap On A Stick

Bubbles and Easter go together like spaghetti sauce and pineapple, in that they don't, but we like it anyways.

I didn't think soapy water could consume so much fun each year

Easternesses

In all the hub-bub we still managed to find a few minutes to relax on Easter, before the crowds came and demanded eggs...

so we relaxed on the hammock for a bit

the boy got Grandma love

Easter in uncontrollably colorful

Yuula upped the ante and demanded a formal dinner

rhubarb pie... what else

by some Easter miracle our dining room lights started to come on after being out for about a month

indeed

The Manic Hunt

The scene in the yard is peaceful, hanging gifts gently blowing in the wind and resting in the sun, some gently melting, some rolling from their hiding spots. But that would be the ruckus. Quiet. Bird chirps can be distinguished from one another. I heard a bumblebee. And then...

 All hell breaks loose!

She was supposed to find her bike last, but apparently she sensed it from the front yard

Next year she'll have competition

Blue Stripes And Sweetbreads

It was a glorious Easter from the get-go

He didn't even know what the hell was going on, but he was enjoying himself

We pounded almost tow whole loaves of sweetbreads

And then we put on our blue and white stripes

It just worked out that way

Sugary Hearts All Day Long

To stick with more current and immediate events, yesterday was Valentine's Day, and hearts were frigin everywhere.

 Hearts hanging from the ceiling

Hearts on the griddle

I don't think we ate anything not heart-shaped that day. French toast for breakfast, donuts for lunch (I know, right!) and then jello for dessert.

Yuula made me this card

And then passed this one off as her own, too

There's that nasty jello

I guess this is something we do with jello now

He might as well learn what kind of family he's been born into sooner than later
