They Dreamt

It's going to get real confusing as to what I've posted and what I haven't from the past few months. Also the timeline is gonna be like watching one of those Tarantino films.

I'm pretty Sure this was this morning. Or maybe it was yesterday morning. I definitely wasn't tomorrow morning. No. Tomorrow morning was in color.

Kids At A Cannon

We finally got up early enough to hit the new farmer's market outside the courthouse before dance class. It was great. Delicious baked goods (we may have finally found a bakery worth it's while), delicious caffeinated beverages at a little unfounded cafe, and even some Amish presence to boot. Hopefully we'll make it back before summer ends. I know Yuula has already worn a path in the green grass in front of the hall so, she'll wanna check up on that.

Blue Stripes And Sweetbreads

It was a glorious Easter from the get-go

He didn't even know what the hell was going on, but he was enjoying himself

We pounded almost tow whole loaves of sweetbreads

And then we put on our blue and white stripes

It just worked out that way

Sky Gazing Or Curtain Appreciation

We spend the first hour or so of each morning staring out the window. It's the most outdoor activity we can get til this snow melts off. I can't tell if he likes the blue sky or the floral curtain pattern. Either way, he is into it, since he barely opens his eyes for much else throughout the day.

Whadya Say, Saturday?

C360_2012-02-10-09-42-16
I like this setting

We got a couple inches of snow and three noses full of sniffles. Perfect setting for a Saturday family morning. Cozied up by the fire with oatmeal, tea, and a movie, watched Yuula walk around in big shoes and bury herself in all her stuffed animals.

Unfortunately Laura now has to check in at the HG for the evening before we can have the whole day tomorrow. We should make plans. We won't, but let's say we should. Maybe we'll have more snow and can make snow objects. Maybe we'll sleep in til noon and fritter the day away. Maybe we'll make fritters.

Today I have some house chores, being a good little housewife, and baby to care for. She's getting brave. Climbing stairs, jumping off the couch, eating dirt, fun stuff. And her hair is really starting to take on a life of its own. I commented that this morning she looked like Einstein. And then she burped juice.

Saturday Morn, For A Flash

1326549440890

Saturday morning in bed watching cartoons. Kinda can't beat it. But life called and Laura wanted to head off to the gym before work (third day in a row) and I finally wanted to cook up some steel cut oats for my family's breakfast and Yuula, well she was content watching Jack Hanna in bed with a bottle of milk so...

Let's see what we can do on a Sunday morning then.

This Morning Was Too Short

Saturday morning cartoons in bed. New favorite family activity. Wish it was longer. Can Saturday borrow some of Friday?

Reckless Alike With Torches And Arrows

This is how I moved for the first 30 minutes of today...

... it was actually quite lovely.

Silence Is Powerless

For the second time in 9 hours the power's gone out. Kinda nice actually. I can hear the grass drying. Yuula is still sound asleep and Laura just got to work. This morning over tea biscuits we talked about finally getting some real life gardening going in this garden we've spent so much time on. Sunday and Monday are supposed to be lovely. Weather owes us a nice weekend. Don't do anything stupid now.

Power is really staying off this time. Man, I was just getting into the new Fleet Foxes album.

Our Home Defragment

I like when we just sit around and listen to music and stare at things. Those are the best mornings. Clocks don't matter. Not anymore. Just asleep or awake. The rest fits in between.

I like feeding the herd. They're consistent. Such habitualists. The old timers first on top of the dresser and the youngens next down on the ground. It's the feline version of the big people/little kids tables. I didn't set it up this way. They did.

P1220680

I like eggs & grits for breakfast. Not because they're delicious but because it means it's getting cold. During the summer, it's cereal 99% of the time. Now that the mornings are chilly, we want something to warm our bones.

P1220725

I like a sleeping baby. Especially when she's wrapped up like a peapod. She has been sleeping well. A rough night here or there, but mostly, sleep. And we know she's asleep because she makes a lot of noise.

P1220733

I like when deer wander thru the yard. They usually eat up all of Laura's plants but we haven't taken any steps to stop them, so apparently we don't care that much. But for now, we have some kittens trying to chase them off. Or maybe they're playing...

P1220712

I like when Laura goes to take a shower and comes back downstairs to find cornstarch on my face. She likes that, rather.

I've been really digging my morning bedhead lately...
