Now Transmitting From Less Shade

C360_2012-07-31-10-55-32

Those dang jackholes sent here by the power company to trim the lines finally got to our house and I less than pleased with the results.

less shade = more sun = more sweat = Gatorade shortage

Bless The Rain

C360_2012-06-25-08-07-54

Thank goodness it's been raining all morning. I need a little break from the constant sprinkler transitioning. I'm worried our well will run dry. We've got 4 new trees, the budding vegetable garden, 6 transplanted bushes and 4000 transplanted daylillies, everything spread all over the yard that all need intensive water love and keeping up with them has become quite the chore. And now add to that a chunk of lawn with new grass planted. Aye. I gotta go water something.

Okema, Fuji & Wolf River

Sounds like Zappa kids.

C360_2012-05-02-15-13-00

Finally, after talking and delaying and forgetting and regretting, we planted some trees. One up front and two in the backyard. I wrapped them with chicken wire, set up a perimeter of sorts and hosed them down with deer repellent.

Let's wait and see what happens next.

Know Yr Xmas: Tree

beautiful-christmas-tree

According to the National Christmas Tree Association, Americans buy 37.1 million real Christmas trees each year; 25 percent of them are from the nation's 5,000 choose-and-cut farms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
America's official national Christmas tree is located in King's Canyon National Park in California. The tree, a giant sequoia called the "General Grant Tree," is over 300 feet (90 meters) high. It was made the official Christmas tree in 1925.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Animal Crackers are not really crackers, but cookies that were imported to the United States from England in the late 1800s. Barnum's circus-like boxes were designed with a string handle so that they could be hung on a Christmas tree.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christmas trees are edible. Many parts of pines, spruces, and firs can be eaten. The needles are a good source of vitamin C. Pine nuts, or pine cones, are also a good source of nutrition.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The northern European custom of the candlelit Christmas tree is derived from the belief that it sheltered woodland spirits when other trees lost their leaves during winter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Artificial trees are the most popular with 40,694,463 on display in comparison to real trees at 34,335,809
~~~~~~~~~~~~
For every real Christmas tree harvested, 2 to 3 seedlings are planted in its place.

Limbs Not On The List

1315569319478

I'm realizing now that we really lucked out with the weather at Yuula's party. Since it's rained everyday since then I'm thinking we were REALLY lucky. Limbs are still falling from the sky. This would not have been good at the party. This limb was not on the guest list.

Those Nothings Are Everything

Tonight, we strategically placed the fans around our bed.

We watched the Oprah finale yesterday. It was the first episode I've ever seen.

Going East, Yuula likes compressed air. She prefers fresh air going West.

We just lost power.

What does it say about us if we don't enjoy the good dancers on this show as much as we enjoy the trainwrecks?

Lights will guide you home.

P1280430

Yuula will kiss us and say yum, but not when we ask her to. She also took 2 steps, but only once.

How do you convert square feet into cubic yards? We are not equipped for this.

We gotta stop eating so many strawberries.

Es Ist Windig

Hell yeah fall. Ain't too cold but I'm wearing the sweatpants. Anticipatory sweatpants. But the leaves have flipped, which means rain. Photosynthesis I think. For now I'm stuck on this field but soon I'll be home and warm, in from the rain, eating salad. Then what....?
