Man Tell The Mantle
Since our new stove does nothing stove-like just yet, we decided the least we could do is give it a decent mantle.
You can be the judge whether or not it is decent or indecent.

No Place For A Fire
(from October 12th)
We tore out our fireplace. Yes we had some good memories, like in front of it on our first Christmas here, and how it kept the bottom of our feet warm during the power outages of Sandy. But it no longer served a purpose, especially after we ripped the chimney out to build the hallway and it just became a giant eyesore in the middle of the house. So now we have an armoire and a coat rack. MUCH better.
I took all the wood from the walls and built a new pantry. I kind of can't believe it looks as half-decent as it does.

Living In Lemon Pound Cake
(from August 9th/10th)
We spent a weekend finishing off Yuula's playhouse. I gotta tell ya, a can of paint goes a long ass way. That thing looked pretty dismal before. After we finished I was thinking of moving in.
thanks again Grandpa

She's Moving Out
At the end of July we started FINALLY building Yuula her playhouse. Leveling the floor is always the worst part.
Naturally Grandpa was around to make sure I didn't build a structure sure to collapse on a tea party.
Man that is ugly. The unfinished project, dressed up with a red chair. Tah-da!

The Weight Of Warmth
Hey Look! It's Dad crawling underneath our house again. No big whoop!
Digging holes and dragging rocks the length of the house is by far the most ridiculous work we've done on this place, but at least we know the floor won't collapse under the weight of warmth.
I am a caulk master. They call me Caulky Romano. When I fill out applications I check the box for 'caulkcasian'.
Yuula thinks her watch tells the temperature outside. Who am I to tell her not?
'R' stands for 'Really Hot Soon'?

I Can Pee Out A Window
The second day of construction went much slower than the first, but an end was in sight, and we were all pretty exhausted from the day before. But we started out with a great view from the bathroom.
Yuula got all dressed up to get dirty in the woods
I dunno what's going on here, but apparently Grandma lost a bet
All closed in, and just barely in time for some rains. And it was pointed out to me by numerous members of our male visitors, I can now pee out the window.
