Who Knew There Was A Zoo
For six years we've been driving past a small brown building with a giant snake on it, daily. I was under the impression that it was just some dude with a boa for a pet charging $6.60 or $8.80 to come in a feed it your small children or something.
I wasn't that far off.
Those may have been statues
This guy says "Look at the bear!"
So we did.
Aesop had a little extra milk left over from lunch
This guy didn't seem interested. In living any longer.
And this little disturbed monkey seemed to sum up the whole collection of screwy little primates that lurk the grounds of this little snake hut.

Berries, Copters, And Peacocks
We headed down to Whiting Tuesday night to drop off Judee before our roadtrip, and maybe to have a nice dinner and a little rest. instead we did as many things as we could fit into an 8 hour window. First was a much belated Easter at Grandma & Grandpa's. Yuula doesn't own a calendar yet, so she didn't know any better. That would make a good Easter gift; a calendar.
Then we headed over to Hallock's for some peak season strawberry picking. Yuula took right to it, like she'd been there before, yanking berries and popping them down her gullet. We had to tell the girl at the checkout to charge for an extra pound or two that never made it into the basket. Maybe next time we just weight Yuula before and after to know how much we owe.
Then we headed out to Point Pleasant to see what we could see about trying out the boardwalk. The beach was a little crowded and we weren't all that interested in paying for a quick stroll out to the ocean so we hit the rides instead. Compared to last year, where we practically had to drag her onto even the merry-go-round, this time was a raving success. She wanted to ride everything! And she even smiled a couple of times. Plus she had a partner in crime this time around, namely her cousin Dylan, who up until the boats, seemed to be a perfect buddy.
Do I even need to mention we had ice cream at Sundae's?
Then to cap off an already jam-packed day, we visited the Popcorn Zoo, where Yuula saw horses, fed bears, hid from a tiger, and pet a sheep. We also saw the most enormous cow and Laura molested a peacock.
Do we think she had a good day?
This is the sign of a good day.

He Came For The Sweet Trash
Attack!?
I went out to start the car for Yuula and saw the door to the old shed along the driveway was wide open. I went in there yesterday to get some boxes but was pretty sure I locked it up afterwards. I looked closer and saw that the door wasn't simply opened but torn off. Someone, something tore the molding with the lock right off and I'm out here in garden shoes in the snow. I noticed the desk I stored in there a few days earlier was knocked over on top of a trash bag full of food scraps and expired dairy. Then I these on the ground in front of the crime scene...
Bear Attack!
These are Laura's and my footprints mixed in.
This one looks like a baby footprint inside of a mama footprint.
Bears Attack!!
They knocked over my desk.

Clarion Is Super Bear
We stopped to picnic in Clarion County park. Apparently, something in the storied history of Clarion County Pa. there has been much to do about crime and no-goodedness. So much so that the residents of Clarion took it upon themselves to summon a superhero to fight the bad guys. And a super bear hero at that, with mysterious projectiles jutting from his chest. I have no idea what that's about but Yuula hates him.
