Buffet Bravery
The Krupps do not dine out, and even better, the concept of a buffet, especially of Asian descent, escapes them. So why not get some entertainment out of dinner.
I have never seen someone try EVERYTHING at a Chinese buffet. Dave is a brave soul. Not everything went down, but he tried his best.
I don't know what was going on here so...

Christmas Begins With The Krupps
Dave and Cheryl popped in on their way back down south after an exhausting holiday spree thru the midwest
Yuula was very excited to get her Strawberry Shortcake pajamas and hasn't taken them off since

I Was Working, Okay!
Whoops. Missed a few there. My butt has been firmly attached to my swiveling desk chair, but yet I haven't found the time. But in wonderful news to me and myself only, I've signed off on the Strata job and now it's in the hands of the Abu Dhabians. Our house became SSI headquarters once again and we even recruited a few new employees.
Yuula experimented with headbands...
and hats...
and napping spots.
I polished off my cherry moonshine...
so now all I have left is some liquor soaked cherries, but I'm taking care of that now.
Oh and Yuula is a robot.
Up at 4am. Gotta go.

3 Seconds A Day, December 2012
I noticed that, for the first time, I shot a video (almost) everyday of month. Thought it may be fun to do the whole thing in snippets. Three seconds each. Ready...
Yeah, I said almost.

Out Before The Year News Itself
The Krupp elders came in to close out the Christmas and ring in the new year with us. Yuula padded her Minnie collection and Laura and I got some vintage bowling balls. Guess who's joining a league after all.
Yuula ran the already road-weary grandparents into submission, but mommy and daddy got a nice break from child rearing for the weekend.
For some reason, every time her parents come visit, some random and equally horrible toy from Laura's childhood pops up around the house that distracts Laura for days.
We made beef wellington again, because we can
Dave became slightly obsessed with changing all our circuit breakers from 15 to 20
And Yuula became a barista and set up a coffee house in the living room. Convenient.
They just hit the road, bright and early, and should be back in Georgia to see Dick Clark reign in the New Year.
(shhh they don't know he's dead)

Work Makes Way For Play
Dave and Kevin just got on the road after almost a week of fairly intense workdays here at the Northeast division of SSI. Long hours put in and lots of personal interaction, something we don't usually get the chance to benefit from. So I'll miss the office mates and Laura will miss her father and brother, but Yuula... well she'll miss this.
The child has no fear

The Thanks, X14
Believe it or not, things have just now settled down after Thanksgiving. I didn't even realize it was Monday already til Zoraida Sambolin said something about it, and even now I'm kind of in shock. Maybe that tryptophan is getting stronger.
We had 14 people stuffed into our house for Thanksgiving. Seems fitting. But it started off slow with my parents, Eric & Fatih arriving late the night before and waking up slowly the morning of.
It seemed like we were in no rush and took the morning easy, gnoshing on muffins and Stella D'oro, sipping coffee and "coffee" and deciding whether or not get up and get to it.
The Krupp men arrived fresh from hurricane alley and were ready to get to business, and by business I mean actual business showing everyone the mythical heat injector on our front lawn.
It was nice to get outside since it was such a lovely day and plus I think my neighbors passing got the impression that I may be a real player in the contest of "let's-see-who-can-have-the-largest-generator".
Back inside hors d'oeuvres were prepped and just in time for more guests to arrive. Eric served up his homemade sangria, complete with beet shavings and quirky goblets.
The period of time between this and the next is blurry, but I seem to remember lots of serving bowls, bumping into one another and cooking going on in three rooms of the house. Dinner was about two hours late hitting our tongues, but our tongues were the better for it.
Before
After
Jammed some dessert down our throats and then busted out the Michigan rummy board. Everyone was a quick learner, except for Eric, but we had to change up some of the rules to keep the chips moving, despite my father having a panic attack over it.
Can't wait to do it again. Let's go for the big 20!

Grandpa, Kevin, Toes Too
Grandpa and Kevin are in town for the rest of the week and Yuula wasted no time in abusing their kindness. She is going to be a selfish dance partner when she grows up. But at least she gave the gearheads a little much needed softening up after their travels thru the steel belt. She been in bed for ten minutes and they're already back at it. No rest for the bleary.
