Free Bunny

Finally! Weeks after starting it, I finished the bunny hutch and threw that little turd in there for good. No more bunnies in the house. Aesop can have his room back. Even tho no one ever goes in there anyhow.

I just know I'll come out in the morning and he'll be gone

Girls do nails

Boys build rabbit huts

But girls and boys both play cupcake games

Baskets, Benches, And Nekkid Bums

That was the theme for Mother's Day 2013. I think it's mostly self-explanatory, but maybe a few details for those who so desire...

It's become the tradition round here that Laura works out her hanging baskets on Mother's Day. It's thematic, it involves flowers and pretty girly things. Plus it's not terribly taxing work, so a the intent of a holiday stays intact.

While the girls did that, the "men" built a new garden workbench in the alcove of the vegetable garden. It came out damn good if I do say so myself.

And while everyone worked and built and created loveliness Yuula ran thru the yard naked.

Perfect day.

A Corner Formerly Known As Useless

1330010262350

Living in an A-frame by way of barn style house has presented some challenges in the ways of maximizing wall space. Yesterday I think we finally made something out the strange slanted cubby corner next to my side of the bed when I transformed it into a 3 foot deep closet that rendered useless an entire dresser and wall of chicken coops worth of clothes.

Victory.

It was wasted space that had guitars collecting dust and a dumping site for my unmentionables and while there's still some construction to be done to make it look less utilitarian (like a nice 7'x3' piece of wainscoating to cover it and a curtain to hide it), this month has seen a real purging of the unwanted unnecessities in this house. Spring is coming folks. We need to make room.
