Legos Come A Long Way

Admittedly, I have not done proper legos in decades, but man have they upped their game

It is a surreal moment tho, to enjoy your childhood pasttime with your very own child, and actually have them enjoy themselves as you once did.

She ain't good yet, but I think she'll get there

Little Mermaid. It ain't space, but at least it's not Town.

I Follow The Rockefeller

I don't care for the universe and its propensity toward premature holiday cheer bestowal. I usually scowl upon anyone decking a hall or dreaming of sugarplums before you can at least start the 12 days of Christmas. This year, however, after a brief glance at a calendar and realizing the time I had to get my holiday homefront together, I chose to spring into action. I had 2/3 of my gift shopping done before December even hit and I am ashamed. We thought we'd start when our local tree lighting took place, which we thought was December 5th, but went down last Friday, without our knowing. December 5th is the menorah lighting. Whoops. So tonight, they lit the tree in Rockefeller Center and I feel like all is well. For some reason I acquaint that with the beginning of the Christmas season, on November 30th, I am full on. Tomorrow morning I get our 12 totes of Christmas out of the the storage unit and this place is gonna be whipped into shape by the weekend. Tree to follow.

From today...

I spotted a lone reindeer hiding behind the Five Below store. I found nothing good inside the Five Below store.

We actually sat thru some terrible music to watch the tree light up. Maybe we'll go see it for realz.

Lego My Album

First it was ricebowls, now it's Legos! Another one of my most favoritest things in life, and some genius has turned them into classic album covers. There's a whole flicker page dedicated to this stuff. Genius remakes like Houses of the Holy, the Velvet Underground's Andy Warhol album (where'd they find that Lego banana?) & and an artistic rendition of Radiohead's latest, In Rainbows.

Here's some of my favorites:

3 Feet High & Rising...

3 Feet High

Trugoy & Plug One Legofied!! They didn't quite get the fades.

3 Feet High (lego)

Strokes debut...

Is This It

...makes Legos sexy!!

Is This It (leg)

The classic grunge...

Nevermind

...too simply stupid to not be funny. Notice the inflation?

Nevermind (lego)

A few Beatles covers to round out the collections...

For Sale (lego)

Classic

Abbey Road (lego)

They kinda cheated on this one drawing the background, but I'll give it to them

Let It Be (lego)

And my favorite! Look at George (bottom right)

Where are my Legos? I'm gonna get to work on some Wilderness covers...
