Mostly Wet, And Some Monkeys
We realized last night that we haven't even watched any of the video from our vacation last week. There's gotta be about 60 files. I grabbed a few highlights and thru together a little preview... it goes by fast.
We haven't even unpacked our suitcases yet, either.

Until We're Rich, We'll Just Eat Ice Cream
Danielle had told us about this amazing place that sold all sorts of fun things, right up our alley. We didn't expect a four story warehouse of anything and everything we'd ever want or need to furnish a home.
There was one whole room dedicated to chandeliers and tile. I mean, c'mon.
One tile, $55
I think I can make this and sell vegetables in the front yard
Here's Yuula playing with $130 blocks on a $2200 marble table top
So we left, and got ice cream

Heifers Thru Hippos
After lunch we took on part two of the zoo tour. She was kind of obsessed with sitting inside this egg.
Then she fed cows
This guy was my favorite
Our old friend the polar bear
Meerkats are the only animals that look right back at ya
She had been talking about hippos for awhile now, but was less than impressed with the real thing
And the alligator was hiding, but there tilapia seemed to be a decent stand-in

Stop Making Me Eat Stuff
The weather was holding off for the afternoon so we decided to refuel in the park at the Green City Market. A delicious ham grilled cheese with mustard rhubarb, a honey crepe, a goat cheese crepe, and a salad, split five ways. If we keep eating food this damn delicious we may not come back home.
Refueling was successful. I knew because the play commenced almost immediately.
And the zoo was calling us back...
Sealions Thru Gorillas
I think I've been to this zoo every time I come to Chicago. That's okay. It's free. And it delivers. So after we convinced Yuula the slides were broken, there was nothing holding us back.
Sealions
Lions
Jaguar
Tiger
Monkeys

Represent On The Playground
Last day in Chicago. What better way to start it off then a ride on Uncle Vic to go get some pancakes?
Now showing: Anything With Syrup, starring Us
Yuula got a kick out of these girls "hiding" all over the neighborhood
First stop of the day was the playground for some good old fashioned P-L-A-Y
Hanging with the girls
Making friends
The light on the other side of the tunnel
No adult supervision necessary
Hair in the breeze
Nothing better than swinging

Eat The Injera, Spare The Spices
A new cuisine for us here, who thought we may have tried it all, or maybe most. Ethiopian food, care of Demera. Eating with our hands is usually what a normal dining experience finally ends up in, messy hands and sloppy shirts. At least tonight we had an excuse.
And apparently every culture supplies their children with crayons to keep them calm at dinner.

Rooftop Gloom Burgers
The plan was to cookout on the roof tonight and no amount of fog would slow down the insatiable urge Victor has for fine beef patties and brats. It was a nice ambience, and strange to know we're surrounded by the hustle/bustle, but unable to see any of it. I could barely see my burger. I almost chewed off Yuula's foot.
The cook, the "friend"
The Ice Cream Thief Takes Chicago
Returned to Margie's ice crream parlour after showing up minutes before it closed last night. They were open this time, but it was like 4 in the afternoon, so they shouldn't get too much credit. Their cones were massive and Yuula wanted no part of that. That is until after we bought her a shake and we sat down to eat. She just made up for it by eating everyone else's. Crafty.
Apparently the shake was just a beverage accompaniment.
