Like The Frontiersmen (& Women)
Went out today to get our tree, with all the glory of the original pioneers, the frontiersmen, trudging through ice & snow, up hill & over plain, always searching. Once a fir is spotted, he of unparalleled majesty, we drop to the forest floor and saw through wood and bark, while festive song rings into the cutting air from our frozen lips. Just like the frontiersmen did.
Tonight we put her up and begin the process of adorning its branches with apples, nuts, dates, pretzels, paper flowers and handmade wooden ornaments we've spent the year widdling. It will be breathtaking.
For now it's on the front porch.
