O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,Oh yeah. We decorated our tree yesterday, along with the rest of the house (most of it anyhow) and now consider ourselves in full out holiday yule mode and we won't look back until the the eggnog runs dry and the last of the figgy pudding is gone. Christmas=♥.
Wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein, auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Wie treu sind deine Blätter!
We were prepared. While Laura cooked up some eggs I started ripping things outta storage.
The tree was already up since last week so we could jump right into lighting. Only lost one strand this year. Consider that a victory. Still enough to go around. And around. And around. And around.
Once the hard part was done we busted out ornaments. And ornaments meant eggnog. And eggnog means cookies. And cookies mean more ornaments. It's a vicious cycle and it got a little confusing really. I think some cookies may have ended up in the tree and I may have eaten a glass ball or two.
And then, a last golden sparkler, a sashing of garland, and it was done.
And there's nothing like taking a nap under your tree. We pretty much slept there last night.
