A Brief And Lovely Home

We have made a mess of this place the last two weeks. Re-doing the living room has caused a ripple effect disaster throughout the house and we have been living amongst rubble. And it took the entire day to remedy it. But now, this place is lovely. This the best this place has looked since we moved in. Granted, it won't last more than a day. Not with this lot.

Oh, and don't go in our bedroom.

Proof Of The Negative

These morning glories are out of control. I can't wait to start them earlier next year and really get that canopy going.

And now sunflowers too. Three years ago we planted a bunch. Nothing. Two years ago, even more, and nothing. Last year we went all out, and still nothing. This year we planted none, and here they are. So I guess the less you plant the more grow?

It Snowed Lovely

It snowed ler so lovely last night, the real powdery kind that rests ever so lightly on even the frailest branch. I took a few photos, because I was feeling earthy and all.

It's all melted now.

The Cherry Zig-Zag

In my apparent endeavor to become a domesticated housewife I've been saving photos from the interwebs that help motivate us in our never-truly-ending renovation project now nearing its first big thrust. Today flooring was a big topic of discussion and luckily we're all of the like mind to have wood flooring wherever and whenever possible. We lucked out tearing those heinous carpets up on the one side of the house. Something tells me the other side won't be the same story. So we look to buying new or lucking out. This here is a very cool idea, maybe for the master bedroom, but I don't know if I have the discipline. Those zigs will start to zag flat before I get halfway across the room. That's far down on the priority list so maybe I'll earn my carpenters belt by then and give it a whirl. Retirement B&B here we come!
