Us As She Sees It

(from October 5th)

Yuula drew the family. It's her finest most accurate work yet to date.

I think this is Mommy.

Daddy (the biggest I'm guessing)

Yuula, her first self portrait showing the detail of her knotted hair.

And Aesop, I'm thinking because he has food all over his face.

When Daddy's Away

Think the kids missed me tonight?

Here's a family portrait Yuula did. I'm the little guy in the bottom corner.

So proud.

That Is All Of Us

Yuula's taken to drawing figures lately and this is her latest work. We were lucky to snap a shot before she erased it. She's not sentimental about her sketchings.

But she tells us that is us. Mommy at the bottom there, the little one on her head is Yuula, Judee's in the middle and I am looking rough up in the top right-hand corner.

Come on over and she'll do you next.

Are These Her Rowers?

Her "drawings" have suddenly become quite detailed and specific. I think this is her rendition of Rowers' Lunch by Renoir,

you know, like the Glass Man painted one every year in Amelie...

2000 From 1910

Some French artist named Villemard made these postcards back in 1910 depicted his vision of the future way out in 2000.

I can't decide if we're actually better or worse...

May She Find Her Calling

This here is an original piece done by Yuula, with a little help of course, on our Windows Paint program using every last color available to her.

Artsy
No. 0001, 2011

Apparently she's in her Pollock phase, Springs period of course. I'm looking forward to working with her on her next piece, No. 0002.

Generic Rambling

1294521366319

Is it Tuesday already? Big snow tomorrow. My money's on a family day at home. The cupboard is not prepared.

Yuula hasn't been many places yet in her life, but she's seen the inside a high school boy's locker room.

Today I learned Laura hates Fruity Pebbles. I have evidence that says otherwise.

All this music in the world and the only song in my head is the six second ditty on Yuula's jumparoo.

The red lines mean open ended, not flanged. That is a whole new world.

I drew a self portrait of myself on my cell phone, and it's the most artistic thing I've ever done.

I Had To Keep On Moving

I really had no right being in as good a mood as I was today. Back to work after a glorious three day weekend. I kept singing that Matthew Wilder song, "ain't nothing gonna break-a my stride, ain't nothing gonna slow me down, Oh No!" you know the one. I think I was singing it out loud for a while. Got a few looks. I also talked a little baseball. Place is full of Mets fans. The Latino guys anyhow. The rest are for Philly. But I had the punch/serrate guy offer me some box seats, when he couldn't use them of course. His sister gets them thru work. This is something people say quite often. But wouldn't it be nice. That was another song I sang in my head today.

But what I did most of the day? That little drawing up there. I think it's good, for a scratch pad scribble. I see a guy drawing a bow & arrow. Maybe I subconsciously visualized what I might rather be doing. Maybe I was trying to look busy. Maybe I have figured this thing out.

Tonight is our second lamaze class. It's the third class in the series, because we missed the first one. For everyone else in our class it's the third. It's our second. I hope we don't get confused. I hope we stretch again. I felt my bones. They felt good.
