The Eve Of Four
We continue to add Christmas traditions, but this one I think will stick for good
The pajamas were a hit...
But we couldn't get them to hold still. Must've been all those cookies.
Twas the Night...

Remember The Name Slee Tweedles
On Christmas Eve we also received a mysterious package at our door. Mysteriously large. Mysteriously unexpected. Mysteriously from New Hampshire. Opened up to find...
My mind raced thru a shortlist of who in the hell would send us such a treasure and thought back to a text exchange I had with good ol' Tom who queried what kind of sled Yuula was rocking these days.
After a short exchange followed by a holiday phone conversation, it was confirmed, and I was full of Christmas cheer. Oh Tom, why are you so good to us?
And Yuula didn't want to wait for the snow.
When we explained to her the fate of one Charles Foster Kane she thought long and hard about a name to utter on her deathbed and thought the best fit would be, are you ready?...
Slee Tweedles.

Traditions For The Ageless
Our Christmas Eve traditions went off without a hitch. Yuula loved her Santa pjs, as did Laura and I, who bought each other almost identical sleep pants. Great minds...
Yuula seemed smitten with her ballerina shoes to hang on the tree. She doesn't understand the tradition yet but I'm thinking it does not matter at this point. Sparkly pink things are exciting enough without deeper meaning.
A platter full of carefully chosen cookies (those we had ample to spare) a glass of milk, a carrot for the reindeer and a highly anticipated letter to the man himself. The stage was set and all was left to do was pass the hell out.
For Yuula, anyhow...

A Thing For Bing
At dusk on Christmas Eve it began to snow. Hard. After the warm weather and unseasonable melt, we were worried we wouldn't have a white Christmas of any sort. Worries abolished.
I also didn't think we were going to get around to the rosemary lemon polenta cookies II'd been begging for. Once again, worry not oh holiday celebrationist.
The tree was lit and producing a fine Christmas Eve aura ...
Perfect to eat beef wellington to
And to devour this plate of cookies while we watch White Christmas, which Yuula loved, much to our surprise. I think she's got a thing for Bing.

We'll Soon Be Nustled All Snug
I've said it before. Christmas Eve is my favorite. I don't need to say it again. Accidentally starting traditions like waffle breakfast and monster movies can only enhance an already perfect holiday. I didn't watch any monster movies today but I did watch Rex Ryan lose to my Giants so.... same thing.
I floated around the house and took a few shots while the baby's in nap mode and Laura is en route. I got about 15 more minutes before I have to go fetch the child and start dinner. And then it'll be an avalanche.
til then...

For Now She'll Love Him From Afar
We all have one of these don't we? I know I have a couple. Ages 2, 3 and 17. I thought tonight would be an appropriate night to throw this one up tho. With Santa coming and all. Now when he gets here he can go "Ohhhhh. That girl."
While I was scanning this in I skimmed thru some of the goodies from the goodie bag that came along with our $30 photo. A coloring book, some ads and 3D Santa glasses. I had to check that out.
This is how Santa will see our tree when he gets here tonight wearing his 3D Santa glasses...
He must be getting bored.

Go Blue On Christmas Eve
I been waiting for this game since they announced the schedules this summer. Didn't think it would have so much riding on it. Either way, win or lose, still alive or most likely eliminated, it's still Christmas Eve.

Holiday Excess
You know I had to make waffles for Christmas Eve breakfast. And top it off with a little stop-motion animated Rudolph. It was Yuula's first time seeing what will undoubtedly become a family staple each Christmas Eve.
I think she liked it.
She didn't blink for 43 minutes.
Laura is off to do a quick stint at the clink and I'm gonna see what I can do about whipping up a nice dinner tonight. Could be interesting. That and maybe neaten up a little for company tomorrow, not to mention the company coming tonight ;) That's a wink.
