Surviving Sandy: Day One
It stopped around 8pm Monday night. We sat there for about 30 seconds before jumping up and grabbing all the blankets and sheets in the household and dragging them into the living room. Blanket Fort Sandy was underway.
Yuula thought it was the best thing since size 4 diapers, but I didn't realize that I'd have to crawl in and out every time I had to pee or wanted a snack. Maybe living in a blanket fort is a good diet plan.
We quickly stocked up the tent/fortress with wine, candles, battery powered ipod dock and began to come up with some fort-sized entertainment. Motion-restricted pillow fights, tickle fights and hiding under blankets took us a couple more hours into the evening, deep enough to wear everyone down and develop sleepy eyes.
This power out thing ain't so bad. I could do this for a day or so...
(to be continued)
