Wagner Out

Billy Wagner was put on the 15-day DL with a strained left forearm. This does not bode well as outside of Wagner the Mets bullpen has practically been blowing every game all season forcing the Mets to reach for huge spreads going into the late innings just because they know the bullpen is gonna give up some runs. And now Heilman is closing games? Aye Aye Aye. I may have a heart attack. Mets went into the 9th last night with a 4 run lead and what does Heilman do? Give up a three run shot to some nobody. Luckily they brought in Smith & Schoeneweis to get the last couple outs and Mets won. They can't afford to lose easy games like this. Not when the Marlins & Phillies are playing each other and somebody's gonna gain ground somewhere. So Wagner is out for 15 days. Mets finish out the Padres, host the Marlins (they need to redeem themselves from the last series) go to Washington & Pittsburgh and hopefully he'll be back for Atlanta. Dunno. It could get ugly. If they fall too far back in the next two weeks their schedule only gets harder.
