A New Seat For The Getaway Van

Went to pick out a new carseat today.

Has it really been that long since we did this? Damn there's a lot of stuff to choose from.

Laura needed a break to think, so we got nasty buffet at Golden Corral. There. We did it. Now we never have to go back.

When we got back to the store Yuula let us know what she thought we should be buying.

Ended up coming away with a middle of the road carseat, that will last, possibly a couple more kids, but also is part of a larger travel system involving the mobilization of multiple children, sitting, standing, facing all sorts of ways. Kinda neat. Kind of forced some forward thinking.

On the way out Laura (of course) said she had cracked some codes on a few sales they had and some black market coupon business she was involved in. Since we haven't done a whole lot of shopping for new boy stuff, I allowed the exploration. We came away with about 25 items between 3-9mos, all for a measly $32. I kind of don't know how it happened. It wasn't cheap clothes. Look at our receipt...

The clothes should've cost us $210. Instead it cost us $32. We are probably going to another Babies R Us in Jersey tomorrow. They're giving it away!

This one is my favorite!

While Seeds Last

We went to Home Depot last night to buy new garbage cans. On the way in Laura caught a BOGO sale on seed packets. So of course we spent the next 30 minutes scouring the pouches and planning our gardens, something we were not nearly prepared for. But we came away with a nice haul and an excited Laura, which is half the battle.

We never bought the garbage cans.

Saga Of The Pink French Toast Boots

1325964111885

One day, while wandering the local mall, I found these little pink French Toast boots for Yuula. I thought she could use some extra shoes and these seemed perfect. I of course wanted to check and see what Laura thought about them so I waited til she could join us on another day. The boots were $28.99.

When finally the three of us were able to take an outing together we visited the same store only to find them completely sold out of the pink French Toast boot. I went online when we got home and found them at the Target website. Only $20. Bargain, I will buy them for Christmas. One pair of size 6 please.

Christmas comes and Yuula opens her pink French Toast boots and for some reason Laura decides to check the size, not only on the box where it read "Size 6" but also on the shoe itself, which just so happened to read "Size 7". That is a big difference when we were already pushing it for her to wear a 6. So we returned them to Target today, where of course, they had no more.

On a whim we stopped at the local mall again on the way home from returning the boots (actually I wanted a new cardigan and thought they'd be having some post-season sales, which they did) and low and behold there was one pair of pink French Toast boots for sale, size 6. On the box and on the boot. $9.99. We snatched them up and she wore them out of the store.

And up the escalator.

In our world that is a saga. Let's hear it for small victories.
