Clown In The Concentration Camp

I consider myself a purveyor of bad film. Some of my favorites movies are widely considered "terrible". I am known to introduce the horror film known simply as Frogs to a large group of impressionable teens. One of my proudest achievements was finally making it through Plan 9 From Outer Space. It only took 3 months. I think I made it through. So naturally upon hearing of Jerry Lewis' ill-fated The Day The Clown Cries, a lovely little film about a clown that attempts to bring a little levity to only the most sorrowful/pitiful historical events, the Holocaust, I knew that I'd be immediately obsessed with finding it, and wallowing in it's absolute misery.

Let the search begin.

Giant Jump Distracts Giant Suck

I dvr'd the game yesterday during Dylan's party, but lucky us, they had it playing on the TV's there. I'm glad that I didn't have to come home to watch this disaster, and I'm glad I had the distraction of screaming children and bouncing babies to keep me from throwing the abandoned sneakers at the screen.

Songsmith: Boooooo!

Yay! It's Songsmith! So not only do we have the abomination known as modern radio and Billboard classics from such hack-acts such as Britney Spears & Nickelback, but soon we'll be able to hear from everyone who has put together an equally treacherous lyrical passage and possesses absolutely no musical talents thanks to this newest incarnation of our ever-inexorable journey into this artistic void known as pop culture. And yes, unfortunately, everyone does have a song inside.



That was ridiculous.

Ok. Let's try this out on a few classics shall we? Starting with who else... Radiohead. I can't wait to see what Microsoft has in store for these boys.



Horrific. I would liken this to being in a k-hole. So far so good.

Next let's see what they can do to this classic Police track.



That actually isn't so terrible, considering had the Police not reformed and toured recently the two members who aren't Sting may have found themselves performing calypso versions of their hits aboard a cruise line amidst a sea of non-stop buffet munchers for rent money.

There's a bunch of these but I can only take one more, so why not cult classic Wonderwall by embattled brother band Oasis.



Oasis goes dark synth. It's like an ex-emo-gone-Depeche-Mode-cover band doing a live version of a Freezepop remix of a mid-80's Brian Eno instrumental and adding their own lyrics. Horrid.

So good job Microsoft. Another ace in the hole. In the k-hole. A-holes.
