Should've Let It Come To Me
Goats.
We need dirt. Healthy soil to aid in our transplants and upcoming summer grow season. Eileen and Susie are our dealers. They got the good stuff. So I headed over this morning, dew and all, for a simple fill and flee mission, back in an hour. Not to be.
I hit that. With my tire. It was hidden in tall grass. The tire went flat in about 2.6 seconds.
Eileen and I chatted a bit while we waited for the local service gentleman to arrive and fix her up.
I had no idea about the fancy contraption holding my spare tire underneath the pickup. Now I know. My father would be so proud. I filled the truck bed half full and took off so I could get home in time to let Laura leave early enough to hit the gym. Successful.
After I got home and got out of the shower the phone rang and it was my friend and local man about town Keith and he said he had something for me. I said bring it on over. Then this happened...
Sometimes I think I should just stay in bed in the morning.

Know Yr Quarry
For literally weeks I've been trying to hook up with my buddy over at the municipal building to get my hands on some of that sweet sweet dirt they been growing over at the township quarry. Every time we made plans either they had no one with a bulldozer or I had no chance to get over there. Stars finally aligned yesterday, altho dirt is pretty heavy and the overflowing truck bed of wholesome soil I thought I'd return home with quickly snapped into reality when the dude dropped 1/4 of a bucket full in and the Dakota popped a wheelie. I had to readjust my rearview mirror for the ride home.
In retrospect, it was a bust and I got muddy boots.
