We got Judee an electric fence today. Begrudgingly. We don't like the idea but we love the idea of letting her run free. Unfortunately running free is something she is really good at and we'd like her to stick around a little bit longer. Just a little bit.
We did phase one of the training today, which is simply exposing her to the little bleeping sounds and training her to turn around and run the other way when she hears it. On her third time around the yard she started to do it on her own, which is kind of amazing, considering how many people have warned us how stubborn huskies can be. That terrier in her must really balance the playing field.
So we'll see how it goes tomorrow. Maybe the bleeps will suffice.
