Yesterday was date night. We're piecing together an anniversary. Last night was the out-on-town-without-baby portion. It was fun. We parked downtown and headed across to Washington Square Park, which was in full and lovely bloom.
Had to hit up a Cosi. They are few and far between this year. But I gotta say we may be ditching this tradition. There's just too many more and better places to grab a bite in the neighborhood it seems a crime to pigeonhole our tastebuds. I was craving a curry bowl all nite. But we did get to eat back in the park where we like to people watch and got to see squirrel lady in all her glory.
With time to kill we decided to peruse the Canal Street, to possibly find a gift for our babysitter or yet another pair of goofy oversized glasses to add to Laura's collection. Either the selection was sparse or our intentions were. But the Canal is always a treasure trove of crapola.
We looped back around to the park, circling the venue, for a final round of "Jerks in the Park". That's where Laura and I see how many (rude) comments we can make on passers-by and the finest the city has to offer. Tonight we hit the jackpot stumbling upon what developed into a full on juggling/unicycle convention.
This park never disappoints.
